How unfortunate.
Alright, I get that people around here hate the developer behind this game, but how is the actual game anyway?
Pretty bad.
Alright, I get that people around here hate the developer behind this game, but how is the actual game anyway?
Hardly a game. No challenge. No story. Just pretentious indie schlock.
Alright, I get that people around here hate the developer behind this game, but how is the actual game anyway?
Really easy, really boring, and extremely unoriginal.
Alright, I get that people around here hate the developer behind this game, but how is the actual game anyway?
Ever wanted to play an incredibly easy platformer with no consequence for falling, puzzles designed for 7 year olds, and gameplay reliant on a single gimmick? Then Fez is the game for you.
I don't understand is it a lot or what? This seems to say the revenue was 2 mil but I guess the costs were also huge?
So I guess I'm the only one excited for the Steam release? :v: For $10, I'll gladly pick this up.
He literally stole a psp game and turned it into a 2d sprite mash.

I think he was looking for your actual opinions not what your favorite youtubers think
"But most importantly, the success of the game is allowing me to take my time to consider my next move and spend years driving myself crazy trying to make something beautiful so you can run around in it. Something few of us can afford. Thank you for THAT." Not like it matters considering it took him 5 years to release his game. It'll take another 10 for his new game to release at this rate.
The PC version will just be a spreadsheet, because that is what computers are for.
Oh god I completely forgot about that, he spent half a decade making this!?
I think he was looking for your actual opinions not what your favorite youtubers think
Yup. Because if you hate something, you're being totally baseless no matter what, right? I played the game. My brother got it. He liked it. I hated it. It looked pretty, if completely generic and uninspired. That's the positive.
I guess he can choke on his poor sales :v:
and artstyle pretty much stolen from pixel's cavestory
Yeah, the italics were supposed to be sarcasm :v: [editline]15th April 2013[/editline]
Oh god I completely forgot about that, he spent half a decade making this!?
Not to mention the concept isn't even anything new. Fucking with perspective in a platformer has been around in FUCKING FLASH GAMES that I played as a kid.
Thank the lord it is only 200,000, if this guy made even past a million that be sad.
Yeah, the italics were supposed to be sarcasm :v:
but i'm supposed to be the foil that may or may not be retarded and unable to understand sarcasm for comedic effect
Doesn't get anymore pretentious or le epic meme ridden than this piece of shit.
That reminds me, I wonder if the Steam version will have a TF2 promo. TF2 already has a fez, so...
I found the soundtrack to be actually pretty fucking good, despite the game itself being very "eeeehh"
It wasn't bad, its just I couldn't stop thinking that I'd heard it all before.
Why do people say Fez is bad? I'm willing to bet none of you have played it. Fez is good if you like games like Journey or Knytt. Minimal gameplay, simple puzzle solving and more about the experience of playing it than "beating it". Its an excellent game in that style of design. Everyone on FP (pretty much exclusively) hates on Fez just because it was never released on PC in the first place (everyone pretty much loved it when it was still in development here lol) and because the developer is a douche who doesn't understand what PR is.

Nor is the creator of Knytt a huge pretentious shithead like Fish is. Hell Knytt had a bigger penalty for failing than Fez does. and I don't think Knytt had a long ass development time either, and no, a lot of people hate Fez because of the reasons I just mentioned.
I don't understand is it a lot or what? This seems to say the revenue was 2 mil but I guess the costs were also huge?
Read the title again. it's 200k not 2M.

I enjoy quite a few indie games, even the ones people on facepunch rag on. But this game is, sorry to say, shit.
Knytt isn't full of itself. Nor is the creator of Knytt a huge pretentious shithead like Fish is. Since when is that a valid reason for the game being bad? Especially since it's impossible to draw that conclusion unless you had pre-conditioned biased against it, or some of the things it involves itself with. Bioshock has no penalty for falling or dying either and yet it's praised by just about everyone here. So clearly that doesn't mean gameplay is bad either. What does it matter how long a game took to develop? Since when should a game be judged by the things that surround the product rather than the product itself? If you took someone who never heard of Fez or was otherwise completely disconnected from "game PR/trends" and they played Fez, there's a good chance they would really enjoy it assuming they are capable of enjoying exploration-focused games and platformers.
