would anyone happen to know anything on how to fix this net-book i got from my friend .
i think it has a virus but there is nothing i can do for there is no cd dvd drive .
so i recently purchased an external CD DVD drive but i must install it for it to work.
being as how windows wont boot and i have tried everything (safe mode, safe mode w/o networking, command prompt) i also tried changing the boot up options so it boots from usb (the CD DVD drive) but like i said its not installed . so would anyone have any advice or anything for me . all help and any is greatly appreciated ,any more info that you need to know ask me . thanks in advance to all.
Copy your OS to a flash drive (If you have another computer) and try to boot via USB. Worked for me.
thanks man fuckkkk though how big a flash drive would i need ? i dont have one and i have the recovery cd would i copy the stuff from there . the less stuff from the netbook lost the better
What netbook is it? If you can live with having your files and apps erased most netbooks have a built-in recovery partition.
EDIT: Disregard this, I just read your second post
its a hp netbook 16flash drive . 1gb ram

anyone know what the smallest XP would be
XP is normally 700mb, could nLite it to anywhere between 300mb to 500mb.
Pre-install, that is.
you need to configure the cd drive in the bios
hey well im downloading the small version and stuff and its like 300mbs i have a sd memory card can i boot from there ? the netbook supports sds memorycards for some reason so can i boot from there
