it makes 0 sense that it would take longer to load if you started it immediately, if it for some reason does, they need to just have it initiate loading the game when the system is finished loading completely or whatever

It's how it is on 3DS.
If you start up a game before it initializes the SD card, it takes a few extra seconds.

It could be that the OS is still loading stuff while the game starts.
