GOTY edition usually contains all of the DLC put out for the game, and Borderlands 2 has a second 'season' of DLC coming so i don't really get why they decided to make it now

i dont think they confirmed they going to do a second season pass. they just said they are thinking about it on interviews.

Why not just call it "complete edition" or something? Of course GOTY sounds more impressive to the target audience but still.

How can you say it's not a game of the year when it actually is chosen by 4 publications as their GOTY?

GOTY isn't something that only one person or publication decides.
Of course that makes GOTY quite meaningless.

and then if they make a second season pass, Borderlands 2 - The Ultimate Vault Hunter Edition.

There doing a second season? Also it was nominated for game of the year so they can market that even though they didnt win it.

considering the after-credits stinger of the latest dlc is a trailer for more dlc
i can safely say they have more dlc planned

It DID win 4 GOTY awards.
Like I said before there's no gaming god who decides who gets GOTY. All publications decide GOTY by themselves or let people vote.

Even Dead Island won one GOTY award from some lesser known publication.
Many argue if that makes Dead Island worthy of GOTY edition, but I don't care because it's meaningless anyways.

Since when did Gold/Platinum become Game of the Year? Doesn't matter, I don't own Borderlands 2 and this would be a half decent excuse to get it.
Rev3 said that the most recent dlc is the last story / mission based dlc for bl2.

Realistically what can they change. It's a shooter with a crazy diablo-ish loot system.
I guess they could take it another step and add in armor pieces and stuff.

Last [I]planned.[/I] There's rumors of a second season, but its not confirmed beyond Gearbox saying they were intested.
Totally gonna get this. Was waiting for this precise pack to buy bl2 complete, and maybe wait for a sale and get it with like 75% off like bl1.
goty edition for 7.50, that was the best purchase ever, especialy since I still play it.
This is a great deal, by the way. Borderlands 2 is a fantastic game, especially compared to the first. And all of the DLC is great (though Hammerlock's was a bit lacking).
