Its not bad, but its definitely sam's worst game.
I hear that they are going to re-make SS2 though....
Thus, this will be known as SS2:Classic or something.
I didn't mind it actually.
I have it on retail and i would rather not buy it on steam, they should at least let us activate it on to our steam account if we have a retail copy.
Been wanting to pick this up just to play it and complete my Serious Sam collection.
I actually liked this game more than the others, mostly because of the wide variety of the scenery.
So wait what is the actual order of the games? I thought "The Second Encounter" was Serious Sam 2.

The Serious Sam game you don't hear many people talk about. I've honestly never gotten a chance to play it, so I'm in no position to judge. Despite what I've heard, it doesn't look too bad. I recall hearing a rumor that Serious Sam 2 is due for a remake, or an entire overhaul. Not sure.

And yeah, SS2 isn't that bad. The cutscenes are godawful, but they can be skipped. The first two planets are meh, but it gets much better when you're done with them. The last three planets are pretty much pure classic Sam outside of a shitty time trial segment in the last planet. The music owns as well. Get it if your first SS games are either the HD games or SS3 just to see how it plays.
The storyline and cutscenes are fucking atrocious.
The enemies? Fantastic. The guns? Brilliant. The environments? Awesome. It has waaaay too many bullets and big enemies, and that's what Serious Sam is, right?
Maybe it's just me but the games artstyle doesn't make me think Serious Sam at all. Then again I've only played the TFE,the TSE remakes and seen BFE footage.

The weapons are cool until you get weapon stripped after every level are are forced to start each new planet with the revolvers and Halo Grunt Gun knockoff. :v:

That was The Second Encounter. Think of TSE as more of an expansion pack to the original game that a real sequel.

Only Serious Sam game I haven't played. Might just buy it anyways, maybe someday there will be an HD remake.

I mostly hated how console influenced the game felt and that the guns were all massive and clunky looking... and just really how cartoony and truly retarded everything looked.
Thanks, I would have bought this IF IT WAS ON STEAM EARILER.
Instead I bought it off of ebay new for a very low price.
