I was encoding some shit in Winamp while playing L4D, and L4D was getting pretty slow. So I opened task manager and set L4D's priority to high. Everything was working fine for a minute, then Windows just froze up. No cursor movement, just frozen. No ctrl-alt-del.
So after waiting 10 minutes, I held down the power button. And now it won't boot up. It does the whole Starting Windows... animation, and after about 15 seconds it BSODs. Something about CONFIG.
I've tried startup repair, no help. Safe mode works.
What happened?
Tried system restore?
Sounds like your card just died.
Edwards probably knows what really happened though.
Fuck it, I moved to 7600.
No problems :v:
A bit late, but I've actually had this happen on 7600. Froze, restarted it and constant blue screens. Started disabling start-up programs in safe mode and it slowly fixed itself, even after I re-enabled them. Just a tip if it happens again.
