Also, if you are not living in your own house yet, post what your ideal back yard would be.
Mine would be enclosed, not too big, but big enough for my dogs to run around and for my children to play in. It will have a nice stone walkway, a small patio, and a jacuzzi. I plan on having a projector screen that hides away under the roof overhang on the house, and wish to build a small water proofed cedarwood style box to house the projector and protect it and the wiring from the elements. this will be in the line of sight of the hot tub. This is just a basic idea of what my fiance and I are planning on doing with our back yard.
