Plantronics GameCom 377 doesn't have stereo mix at all.

So I just got my 377 in the mail yesterday. It works perfectly and I love it to pieces, but it doesn't have stereo mix.
Now it's a 3.5 mm jack and I assumed that those have stereo mix because I know for a fact that USB headsets don't and the 3.5 connects directly to the sound card.
I downloaded my audio drivers for my on-board sound card and now I have stereo mix, but it doesn't work when recording or anything. I unplugged the mic and still doesn't work :(

anyone know why? Stereo mix works with my ipod earbuds, but not this...

and google doesn't help because the description of the headphones both include "stereo" and "mix" http://www.google.com/search?q=Plantronics+GameCom+377+stereo+mix&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
My stereo mix has never worked with my plantronics headset set as the default device. I need to set my speakers to the default playback device before the stereo mix picks up anything.
Fuck.
Well that sucks.
