Combat still looks piss easy. Counter once then hold attack to win.
Maybe one day we'll get an assassin's creed game that has actual challenge.
I haven't seen it
Holy shit, this franchise just keeps getting better. Love how he impales that guy with a musket, then shoots through him to kill the second one and then pushes the last one of the ship without it being a cutscene.
Holy shit.....I am now SOOOO happy I preordered this.
We may finally have something that can knock Assassin's Creed II off its perch.
Holy shit this looks fantastic, they improved it on some many parts.
Very happy i made the pre-order

Why should combat be hard in AC?
The purpose of the combat is to escape and attacking is actually more optional, if attacking was more advanced then you can't really hold up against 5-6 soldiers at a time
Had me at "you can jump into a moving cart full of hay, wait until your target is near, and drag him inside the hay to kill him."
wonder if we will see the boston teaparty
Can't wait to see John Adams single handly rip the heart out of the British General at the Bunker Hill and destroy the British fleet.

I don't know about you but when a game is winnable with just one button combination (Right Trigger + X or B, can't remember :v:) then there's something wrong, no matter the purpose. More so to the point that it [b]should[b] be challenging if the point is to escape.
"Oh no, there's 5 guards and I'm bad at the combat, I should try to run away and hide!"
"Oh no, there's 20 guards, I can kill every single one of them without issue but I should still run away for god knows what reason and blame myself for not scoring some kills!"
Could also be that he's playing on a easier setting?
Could also be that he's playing on a easier setting?
he probably is since he's demonstrating the game
Of course there is still exclusive to Gameshit stuff. I hope it's still in the game....even if it's just that cool sword.
So he can just break padlocks by punching them? wtf.
This looks like the right direction for the series.
The best thing is no more health potions and health wont regenerate while fighting so that sounds like fighting will become more challenging that way.

I don't know about this one obviously, but i'm fairly sure there were no difficulty settings in the earlier games.

I brought 6 minutes of Boston to the 6 minutes of Boston.
I'm pretty sure at this point that Assassins Creed combat wasn't even meant to be challenging so much as cool looking.

Yep. What people don't seem to realize is that the AC games aren't based on combat, but since there is, they make it slick and lean. These games are more about the story and other gameplay elements like stealth and movement and the economic gameplay ideas added in AC2 (which I hope they're bringing back in AC3, cause I love that to death_
"killing me won't change any- ahhhh" just pushes him off the boat like nothing :v: that was amazing, definitely getting this

get over it already holy shit
just don't play the game if you hate it so much
I get that the game isn't supposed to be solely focused on combat, but wouldn't making combat difficult actually encourage more stealth? I just want difficulty options this time around.
Can't decide between PC and PS3 at the moment.
Meh. Old footage with a guy talking over it. Quite a shame.
Cities still look fantastic though, and I really like how they have overhauled all the climbing animations etc.

100% new engine I think. What I do know is every animation, texture, and such was removed and everything in AC3 as far as that goes is done from scratch.

Wow that weapon rack kill was cool. Nice to see some dynamic events based on the surrounding environment. I'm also going to have a lot of fun with that rope dart.

Game has been in development for 3 years now. Why would they tell us it was not going to be cut and dry America vs British at this point in time? I'm sure the plot was already finished being developed when they announced that, it's not like they said it before development began and changed their minds.
Ass Creed can fuck off already. It is going down the same path as COD.

No it's not. What in the world led you to that conclusion?
Maybe you guys haven't noticed it but we are getting almost identical Ass Creed game every six month. I couldn't even finish Revelations because I realized I'm already bored of that gameplay mechanics.

This time they're doing everything from scratch. Brotherhood and Revelations were both based on the core engine from AC2, and yes they were shorter and at times repetitive. AC3 is supposed to change that.
I for one think the game looks pretty fun regardless of the fact that the combat for the series has always been more for show than for challenge. I hardly think it ruins the game outright and you people are being seriously overly simplistic.
