What is a good computer that I can get for around $1000. I would want at least 2GB RAM, 512MB video, and a decent motherboard and processor. That price also should include monitor, mouse, keyboard. :P

Change that 5770 to a GTX 280, honestly mate you would be better off with a bit more Vram.
Change that 5770 to a GTX 280, honestly mate you would be better off with a bit more Vram.
1GB is more than enough.
Your I5 is still too much.
too much what
Change that 5770 to a GTX 280, honestly mate you would be better off with a bit more Vram.
What are you talking about, both of the cards have 1GB VRAM, except the 5770 is far better than the 280. his card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121355 the card you are suggesting: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150309 also notice that the GTX280 has GDDR3 VRAM, while the Radeon 5770 has GDDR5 VRAM.
Maybe he read 128-bit as 128mb :v:
Change that 5770 to a GTX 280, honestly mate you would be better off with a bit more Vram.
So you recommend a card #1 that is out of budget #2 That is not the best deal. #3 You are a troll. [editline]07:23PM[/editline]
The gtx 280 easily outperforms the 5770. The thing is if he had the budget for a gtx 280 I would recommend a 5850.
What are you also talking about, I was talking about this card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814261063&cm_re=gtx_285-_-14-261-063-_-Product And I can beat you with that 5770 with these conclusive benchmarks http://media.photobucket.com/image/GTX%20285%20V%20HD%205770/ericeod/5770crossfire.jpg
Change that 5770 to a GTX 280, honestly mate you would be better off with a bit more Vram.
do you just hit the keyboard until legible words appear or do you only act like you haven't a clue what you're on about
Maybe he read 128-bit as 128mb :v:
Maybe I did :hurr: Also that 280 wil be well in his budget if he dumped the I5 and went for a AMD Quad. [editline]01:29PM[/editline]
do you just hit the keyboard until legible words appear or do you only act like you haven't a clue what you're on about
I know what I am talking about, if you wanna see a good gaming rig that will see his needs, I will take you up on a challenge.
What are you also talking about, I was talking about this card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814261063&cm_re=gtx_285-_-14-261-063-_-Product And I can beat you with that 5770
Hey children, it's time to do some maths! the 5770 costs $175! the 280 costs $360! now repeat after me, 360 is a bigger number than 175! 175 is a smaller number than 360!
Are you gonna accept my challenge or are we gonna kill this thread even more. P.S PAY FOR AN AMD QUAD AND SAVE MORE MONEY ON A CPU THAT DOES THE SAME PERFORMANCE FOR LESS.
Hey children, it's time to do some maths! the 5770 costs $175! the 280 costs $360! now repeat after me, 360 is a bigger number than 175! 175 is a smaller number than 360!
Why does it even matter cause the 5850 would be recommended over the gtx 280.
oh by the way, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102857&cm_re=5850-_-14-102-857-_-Product better than the 280 in every way beats a 285, lets see if you can recognise a difference in numbers this time
But the 285 can still keep up very close in SLI
But the 285 can still keep up very close in SLI
But that's because there's TWO OF THEM.
But that's because there's TWO OF THEM.
I think we're dealing with someone who doesn't understand the basic concept of numbers no matter how close it is, you're still paying £100 more for something that almost keeps up
I think we're dealing with someone who can't build a computer for a budget which is still far decent and can still run crysis at 1920x1080. Isn't that right Reap and Combine. Because don't you dare point the finger at me.
I think we're dealing with someone who doesn't understand the basic concept of numbers no matter how close it is, you're still paying £100 more for something that almost keeps up
Doesn't everybody enjoying thowing there money down the drain personally I think it is fun see all that I have worked being wasted. [/sarcasm]
well going by your attitude to PCs so far, you'd have a P4 matched with 5970s psst $100 more for 2FPS less
Doesn't everybody enjoying thowing there money down the drain personally I think it is fun see all that I have worked being wasted. [/sarcasm]
[/high-five] Tell you what set your self a budget of 1000$ go to Newegg and build one from scratch, the lowest but the best wins. on your marks, get set, GO
nope because I don't have the time or inclination to prove myself to someone who doesn't understand the basics shittt how did I not see the little green flag
[/high-five] Tell you what set your self a budget of 1000$ go to Newegg and build one from scratch, the lowest but the best wins. on your marks, get set, GO
this is not your thread to do that.

Not saying nvidia is a bad company but they don't have many competitive cards right now.
Okay done, compare links now. [editline]01:03AM[/editline] and you're missing monitor, keyboard, mouse.
Actually I am not a fan boy, I can build a PC far more superior then you so you Get out.
I like how you say this then use a 295 instead of a 5870, plus somehow I think you might be missing a component or two somewhere. do you plan to power it with a treadmill? write linux onto paper? this isn't a build, this is a sad desperate attempt that fails to prove a point. You clearly don't know what you're doing
you are missing hdd, case, dvd drive, psu. and getting a gtx295 is stupid.
