No, it's not in the wrong forum, because I can record and shit, but everything is black and white - So I need help with the device/software on my PC.
I have this nice little dongle-like USB-Stick which you plug into your PC. It's called the EasyGrabber.
It has AV cables, so you can plug the AV cables of your xbox into it. Now, I've done that, and installed all programs, drivers etc. etc.
When I try to record, however - everything is black and white.
The only "TV-Setting" I can use is "NTFS". There are also "PAL" and "SECAM". Now, when you change settings in this program, you can preview them, before applying.
When I preview "PAL" the picture becomes completely black.
When I preview "SECAM" colors come up. I click OK to apply Settings, and I wait a few seconds.
The screen is black.
Anyone know what the problem could be?
What software are you using? some prepackaged stuff or DScaler?

Ulead VideoStudio. It came with the device.
What region do you live in?
Sweden.
So it should be SECAM, right?
Well I guess you could try DScaler if you have never used it. Its free and open source and has the most configuration options out of any program I have seen

I dunno. That's the thing. The preview shows that SECAM will show picture withcolor, but it doesn't. It just becomes a black screen.
In Sweden we got Pal. The problem might be that your "capture device" isn't compatible with 60hz. If you got any other consoles etc a PS2 or Xbox, try hooking that in and see if it's still Black & White. But i'm pretty sure it has to do with the 60hz incompability.
I tried DScaler. Seems to work fine. But I dunno what I clicked just now, but all I get now is:

I think you can just reset the card under a menu and that fixes it or you don't have the card selected as the display device . DScaler is great in that it has many options but it can be touchy and takes a few hours to get the hang of
I reset the card under DShow menu, and now all I get is a dark-red screen. No image.
Make sure you configure the inputs correctly for what you are using and change the region code to the one of the tuner. I think changing the rendering from overlay to D3D can help too
