That sucks. Dawngate had a lot of potential to be very fun.

Expected this after EA bought the studio, though.

At least they're not just saying thanks for the money now piss off.
Wow that sucks. They split a studio just to work on this game and everything.
Dawngate was awful so i can see why.
I don't know why anyone would start a moba when there are already 2 greatly established mobas out there, and a few more that are pretty good.
And I don't think people generaly play more than 1 in these kinds of games.
I disagree. I really liked dawngate's characters, set-up, and tech. It was fun with friends and I had fun playing it. I just think it never really sold itself/was so dreary not many wanted to play it.

You do realize that Waystone was formed while under EA, they never "bought" anything, Waystone was made for Dawngate.
Also Dawngate, from closed beta right through to open, was really bad. Like a "puzzle piece" slot system to compete with LoL-like "talents", are you for real Waystone?
I'll admit some concepts were really cool, but the execution of the game as a whole was appalling.
"Through that time, we’ve taken a lot of feedback from players and delivered lots of new features and innovations," Bromberg said. "And although the game has grown, we’re not seeing the progress we’d hoped for. This isn’t the outcome we wanted,
this is like the exact same argument they made for shelving CnC Generals 2 which they wanted to turn into a MOBA
not gonna pass judgement on the game. People out there were looking forward to it and for them this is fucking shit. For those that weren't, they weren't gonna play it anyway. Really, this is only bad news.
EA.
I honestly completely forgot this game existed. At least haven't heard there was an open beta test. Let's hope this will be the message to other devs that the world doesn't need another MOBA.

It was one of the betters ones and it's sad to see this happen. If EA gave it more marketing then it could have been something great.
Apparently the devs were planning to make all characters free withing the next week, and do mayor reworks to their items, ui, and some characters that were too generic along with several character releases in the following months, which would have cleared most of the bad critisism off of it. They also had a comic series that will probably be left unfinished. (http://www.dawngate.com/chronicles/).
I didn't really play this game, but it's a shame to see that it got canned, and it must be pretty sad for its fans.
Man, thus came out of nowhere. The devs were pumping out content and lore regularly with no signs of trouble.
They should use this opportunity to make the game into something else, with the lore being ready and what not.
