A thread for bad experiences in those hellish establishments known as hospitals, I'll start off with my rant!
I had an appendicitis and had to go to hospital, I was in excruciating pain and was really not in the mood to wait for an hour - guess what I had to do? We finally get to the hospital bed and they need to put an IV drip in my arm so they take me to a room to do it - whilst trying to distract me I realise the doctor has done it about 4 times already - missing my fucking vein. When finally done I was put back in my hospital bed and tried to get some sleep.
Wake up the next morning, sitting around for about 6 hours with fuck all to do, no entertainment and in too much pain to walk. Finally this indian doctor comes up to me and explains the operation, I just nod and smile not understanding a fucking word. I get put under and wake up drugged up on morphine and god knows what else, but I felt awesome. Apart from being in an aftercare unit with a bunch of old people.
AFTER all this I had some shitty stitches instead of real ones and they kept fucking up - and still had to have the IV drip but atleast I didn't feel like imploding. I finally left there after 3 days, fed up and pissed off and now I have 3 scars along my stomach.
RANT OVER.
POST YOURS.
Same thing happened to me OP, except I live in Canada so it was free. Life is good.
I broke my collar bone while skiing in the Bavarian Alps.
I had never had an IV before and they fucked it up somehow because it ended up hurting WAAAAAY more than it should have.
I then spent the next 3 days in bed eating BAD german food, yes I said BAD german food as hard as that is to believe.
I also spent a week in a mental institution for trying to kill myself several times, I'm over that now.

Not really, it just wants to kill you.
Wow holy shit.
Not really in a hospital but it's relevant.
Donating blood, get a shitty RN or whoever doing the poking, then get this thing jammed in your arm like 6 times (huge bruising results).
Do not click if you don't like needles.

I went to get circumcised, everything went fine, until I woke up in the middle of the operation and immediately felt the worst fucking pain I have ever felt.

Ouch!
Stayed up a whole night when I was young to get my brain checked and then got an MRI. That's really the only "big" thing I've gone to the hospital for.

Really? I've heard of stuff like this happening, but it's pretty goddamn rare.

You mean with paralysis but the anaesthesia administered was too low of a dosage so they wake up and feel everything?
Mega-bad time that would be.
They gave me a lollipop.
It fell on the ground. My fault anyways.
Honestly I love hospitals. I try and go to them whenever I am sick instead of the regular doctors, I just feel really comfortable there.
The one I went to had the best fucking burgers ever
I once had an appendicitis (well if I had more than one I'd be wierd), it was actually so bad I had to have emergency surgery and almost died. I had to lay in the hospital bed for 3 weeks with the WORST patients ever. Some bitch who had a fractured (not broken, just fractured) leg who wouldn't SHUT THE FUCK UP, and some other kid who had an appendicitis too, but his wasn't bad and he left after a few days. It wouldn't have been that bad, but the 3 year old next to me was hit by a car, almost died and had his legs shattered, and he didn't complain ONCE. I've always hated the whining people on the other side of the room.
But I live in Ireland so it was free.
Important note: Morphine is AWESOME.
First time ever snowboarding, got invited by a friend to go with his family. Both my friend and I ended up getting food poisoning during the trip. We went to the on site medical area and we were so dehydrated it took them approximately 10 tries to get the IV in my arm and iirc ~15 to get it in my friend. They were trying all the veins in his arm, they tried his leg and were eventually able to get one in.
Fortunately this is my worst experience. I've been able to stay out of the hospital for the most part.
Anytime I've had to have an IV, those things cause so much pain during medicine dosage. If you've ever had to stay in the hospital for more than a few days they should give you a Pick Line IV instead, it's a longer ( more painful ) process to get it in but if you're gonna be there for a while it helps out in the long run since it's 99% painless after the procedure.

It kinda makes me cringe knowing what it is basically, but it really does help.
Also I'm not sure if you use Pick Line's for specific reasons or if it can be used any time ( just to get the medicine to you quicker and/or more efficiently. )

Oh and I guess its spelled " PICC ", never knew that.
Horrible Skiing accident. I was chilling as i was sliding down the mountain. Slid off the edge. Crashed.
Got to the hospital and i was in pain. They game me a pill which did jack shit. And when i hit the nurse button. I had to wait 5 mins before the fatass slug could get to my room. I was later treated (1 week later) and was back on my feet. But it was a nightmare. I don't remember much from the accident.
The only time I've ever been in the hospital everything went swimmingly. The IV got put right in and I was immediately high as a fucking kite, but I fell asleep 5 seconds later and didn't get to enjoy it. They didn't even give me good fucking after-surgery drugs. Just seem shitty painkillers that barely worked and just made me lose my balance.
My left nut twisted and snapped like someone twisted a cherry stem (cause I'm on the swim team lolz). My surgeon (who looked just like Gabe Iglesias) proceeded to slice open my coin purse and pull that shit out of there.
I woke up the next morning with a scab/bloodplug where my scrotum used to be.
But wait! There's more!
My right nut apparently disappeared into my torso during the operation, and descended after the painkillers wore off.
GOD DAMMIT THAT SHIT HURT
Went to the hospital once to find out why I have been having excruciating pain while sitting or laying down. After around 3 hours of waiting and answering some questions, the ER doctor said it was very possible that I could have a tumor or something just as serious. I almost fainted when I heard this but, it didn't seem right. They let me leave and just prescribed me some painkillers that just makes you feel like shit.
Next day went to my regular doctor. Turns out I only had Pilonidal cysts (sorta like blisters on your asshole), which is less serious, though had lots of awkward appointments with a proctologist...
Went to Mercy Hospital once. Bad decision.
I fractured my elbow which involved some of my elbow snapping off so I couldn't bend my arm at all. I went for an x-ray and this black american accent'd asshat started yelling at me because I couldn't bend my arm properly and ended up sitting like i was shitting out a horse.
