Brotherhood is worth it if you haven't played AC2. Like all the Ezio-centric games it's pretty much first verse same as the excessively milked second, but I liked it. You can read the story up to Brotherhood on the wiki and you're good to go.
Picked up AC3, time to see if it's as bad as everyone says
