thank god it took ages to even start up
Yeah, but now you're required to sign in before it will even let you access the program:

Finally, I wonder if they fixed mouse binds or audio levels also.

installer for it crashed and by doing so it uninstalled entirely for me
Looks like I'm uninstalling it; bye shadowplay.
you can use the shadowplay system from a different program like OBS anyways.
Did they fix the limited ShadowPlay settings already? Like not being able to remove the "Recording started...". Also not sure why people freak out over the account requirement. Things like settings synchronization wouldn't work otherwise, overall Experience is optional to begin with. I guess its that people that just use ShadowPlay get annoyed by this, then again there are alternatives like OBS.

And you have to log in with google and facebook now. [editline]8th September 2016[/editline] I hate this.
And you have to log in with google and facebook now.
No you don't. You can log in with Google or Facebook, but you don't have to. And honestly everyone should have a Google account by now considering Google is everywhere.
I just installed it. It crashes every time I leave it minimized for more than a 20 seconds. Great app.
i just can't see what's wrong with nvidia having an account system, on top of that implementing it so i can conveniently just use my google account [editline]7th September 2016[/editline] easily a good tradeoff for a program that's faster as they say, if you could even call it a tradeoff
No you don't. You can log in with Google or Facebook, but you don't have to. And honestly everyone should have a Google account by now considering Google is everywhere.
but i cannot access the program without logging in.

And honestly everyone should have a Google account by now considering Google is everywhere.
I just installed it, and it literally won't let me do anything until I sign in with an account. And I really don't want to have an account. I don't really want to link anything to my Google account, I don't have a Facebook account, and I don't want to set up a specific NVIDIA account. I'd rather just have an application that can automatically update my video drivers without the need for an account to do so. I guess I'll just have to go back to the old way of checking periodically... EDIT: That's a good sign. Uninstalling the application gives me a runtime error.:v:

The issue is that they force you to use an account for features that don't in any shape or form require one.
I've been in the beta channel for this version of the client for a few months now. It's much more stable than the previous version, and the in-game streaming options have been expanded a bit it seems. A global overlay that hooks into all 2D/3D applications recognised as games that actually contains the options for streaming, and doesn't take 20 years to load is quite nice. It's not OBS, but it's almost idiot proof. The optimisation feature is exactly the same though. Way too optimistic.
Yeah, but now you're required to sign in before it will even let you access the program:
Fuck I hate stupid shit like this so much. Can't wait to get spammed by some disgusting Nvidia newsletter.
Fuck I hate stupid shit like this so much. Can't wait to get spammed by some disgusting Nvidia newsletter.
Unsubscribe when they send the first email then? It's literally one click. Or register with an email account designed to feed straight into junk? (using the neato email+someshit@gmail.com thing Google provides you have essentially unlimited email accounts, all unique). Though I can't say I've been getting anything from them since the beta started winding down. I may have already removed myself from their mailing list in that case.

Also once I had shadowplay setup I can log out and use it just fine. In fact desktop recording was there ready to go once I restarted the PC, didn't have to sign in. - can someone else confirm that though?

It just feels redundant, why can't companies just keep things simple?
Did they fix the limited ShadowPlay settings already? Like not being able to remove the "Recording started...". Now I actually do get a "recording has started" message, but it doesn't show up in the video. Not sure if this changes performance at all, I didn't have to deal with an overlay on the old version
why can't companies just keep things simple?
What's not simple about a giant obvious setting in a giant empty window?
What's not simple about a giant obvious setting in a giant empty window?
The fact that it has to exist in the first place?
The fact that it has to exist in the first place?
You're whining that an online service requires an account to use the online bits of said online service. If you don't want to use those bits, then don't. You're not complaining about Steam asking you to sign in to use its online services, how is this honestly any different? Gosh I wish companies would just keep things simple.
bye shadowplay.
And driver updates. Unless I've been missing the Experience-free installers this whole time that could've severely reduced the massive pain in the ass I had to deal with whenever GFE stopped launching on my PC for no good reason. [editline]a[/editline] I honestly don't even give a shit about having to use an account. It's just one more account-based program added to the 20 I've already got installed. [editline]a[/editline] The only thing that even remotely annoys me about this is that I have to close Steam to install it for some reason. [editline]a[/editline] Oh great the installer doesn't work nevermind now I've got a reason to be pissed off, fuck it, not dealing with it tonight I guess.
And driver updates lmao
They backed out on their plan to keep game-ready drivers to experience only. You will still be able to just download your drivers from the website as usual. Experience is still 100% optional. ShadowPlay can be replaced by OBS with NVENC recording.
Unless I've been missing the Experience-free installers this whole time that could've severely reduced the massive pain in the ass I had to deal with whenever GFE stopped launching on my PC for no good reason.
Just uncheck GeForce Experience during the installation?
Guys, please you can use hypercam 2 unregistered if you're so upset.
