Ok so i bought new Sennheiser headphones and when i plugged them in, I could hear sound just fine, but coulndt record any voice. So i removed my Soundcard's drivers because i tought they interfered with the headset or something and now nothing works? ( even after i reinstalled them again ) What the fuck do i do now? How do i know what soundcard i have so i can download the right drivers. thanks in advance and please if you see this help me
nothing as in no sound? Lets go down the check list: Is everything plugged in correctly? Is the volume on the Headset set to something normal? Was the microphone switch on "on" (on the volume control) Installed drivers? If not, is your card onboard or using a slot? If it's using a slot, see what's standing on it and search for drivers If onboard, see mainboard manual And if nothing works, ask your local nerd to fix it.
nothing as in no sound?
Yeah i see a permanent red cross over the sound icon in the tray. Like as if it was OFF. [editline]08:57PM[/editline] I'll open my case and see what it says on the soundcard. [editline]09:37PM[/editline] the fuck? i cant install thse fucking soundcard drivers? what the hell do i do now?

Maybe if you stopped whining we would have time to help you.
Ok then help me?
You're gonna need to either find the name of your soundcard and look it up on the internet, or have the CD with the drivers still with you.
Ok, what OS you using ?
Smart gold member is smart.
Wait, why the fuck do you need the microphone so badly for?
Wait, why the fuck do you need the microphone so badly for?
He's asking for help. Why he want's it is his own personal business
Wait, why the fuck do you need the microphone so badly for?
Well, to talk on the computer, steam, skype, videogames. [editline]02:13PM[/editline]
Ok, what OS you using ?
Vista 32 bit. [editline]02:15PM[/editline]
or have the CD with the drivers still with you.
You see, thats the problem. whenever i reinstall or delete nothing related with sound works! even if i install them back after that. no i have to do a fucking system recovery to get them back to work. but i cant acces the creative control panel anymore and i get alot of weird errors, since that system recovery.
Right click on the My Computer Icon and select "Manage" then select Device manager from list on the left, now check under "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" to see if you got anything listed there or anything with a yelow exclamation mark ( ! ) on it.

Ok, go here: http://support.creative.com/downloads/download.aspx?nDownloadId=10969 click agree at the bottom and it should download the latest driver, install them and see if it works
Last time i did that i had do to that recovery.
where are you headphone currently pluged into ? your soundcard or on-board sound ?
soundcard, i get sound and i hear myself. when plugged in on board sound i hear nothing :/ [editline]03:23PM[/editline] well i did that fucking update you gave a link too and now i have no sound at all again. i get this sound speaker icon in the tray, like as if its muted, you know what i mean and when i put my mouse on it, it says : NO AUDIO DEVICE WTF?
right click on the sound icon and select playback devices
yeah did that million times. cant disable or enable anything, like it doesnt matter if i click anything it just doesnt work
ok go back to device manager again (where you found the sound card name) and right click on it and select Properties, then under the Driver tab select Roll Back Driver
ok then what?
Well that should undo the driver you insatlled, so you should have your sound again, but still have the orginal problem ?
well i dont have sound, like i said in op, whenever i change something with the drivers there is no sound and i have to do a system recovery again
Have you restared ?, it might need a resatrted befor the old driver start working
yes, alot. this pic might help a little. [editline]04:17PM[/editline] what if i just delete the whole creative folder and start again? will that fuck things up. i have to do a system recovery anyways if i want audio to work again .
I cant see any of the on-board audio devices maybe you need to install the on-board audio drivers aswell [editline]03:27PM[/editline] Before that right clcik on play back device and select show disabled and dicouncted devices
