Alright I'm going to buy a new mouse, i've already been to the mouse buying guide. One person tells me g500 the other tells me razer death adder, So I made a poll to get everyones opinion on which is really better.
Deathadder all day erry day
Logitec has fantastic customer support and I've heard a lot of good things about the G500 (and coming from an older G5 I can say that logitech makes stuff that lasts)
I'd go with a G400 over both.

Had my G500 since release. Still love it to death. And if it broke I'd buy the same one.
Could just get a cheapo mouse and not worry about it...
I run a G500 myself. I love the ability to switch from clicky scroll to free scroll with a button. I thought it was just a gimmick, but I don't know what I'd do without it now. So my vote is for the G500 just based on the features, plus Logitech has never let me down before.
I own a G500 and have used a Deathadder, and the G500 is better in my opinion, it feels better in my hand, and has more buttons. Plus the weights are useful, since I like a heavier mouse. Also, right now on newegg the G500 is cheaper than the Deathadder (including shipping), and it includes a free game (Blacklight Retribution).
I voted with my G500. Get the G500, you won't regret it.
The question would be more of the DA or G400 since the G400 line-up in Logitech's mouse has one of the best sensors that could go toe-to-toe of the DA's. Other than that depends on your personal feel and preference of each mouse.
I'd say go with Razer Naga Epic instead of the g500 or death adder. TBH both of those mouses are to big.

odellus is banned so im gonna say intellimouse for him
I'm using a g500, best mouse ive ever owned, 3500dpi feels great and it even goes up to 5700 if you want, and the unlockable scroll wheel is nice for web browsing. -snip-

I must seem like a raging fanboy of the G500 in this thread but I've not had any problems with it so I'm just curious what about it other people don't like.

Deathadder, the G500 (ignoring sensor issues and being a laser mouse) is very bulky and the ergonomics aren't that great in my opinion (but ergonomics don't matter too much unless they are very bad for a mouse). The adjustable weight and DPI is a gimmick as well, since you want your mouse to be as light as possible and DPI doesn't actually matter (look at Quake pros and CS pros who play with 400/800 DPI). Further explanation on why ergonomics for mice don't matter as much as some people think:
Depending on how much you use your mouse, it would be best to have one that is comfortable to use so that your hand can take it easier. That said, the human hand can adapt to holding different shapes so optimization in ergonomics doesn't really make much of a difference, however, really shitty ergonomics CAN put more strain on your hand. The way I see it, the ergonomics of mice are all mostly the same unless the ergonomics are just plain shit, which isn't very common, only if your specific grip completely doesn't match the intended grip for the mouse (like using palm grip on a Razer Abyssus or something like that).
And if you're one of those people that say "I like a heavy mouse":
If we're going theoretical for how optimal pheripheral devices can be, you have to acknowledge that every single model for mice is different and therefore has a different limit for how possibly well a human could use it. For example, let's say there's two identical mice apart from one weighing much more than the other. More weight means more force used to move the mouse (F=ma), therefore you have will either have to expend more energy into moving heavier mice or you will use the same energy but move the mouse slower. Looking at it like this, and with the finite weight of our hands already, we're most used to moving around our hands with minimal extra weight, therefore the lighter the mouse, the more likely the user is to have a better optimal aim limit. Yes there will be people who say "but I always use heavy mice and whenever I try light mice I can't aim worth a damn." The problem with that is that they're simply used to using those heavy mice, therefore if they try to use a lighter mouse right off the bat, of course they're gonna not aim as well. It's the same thing with people who use arrow keys for playing FPS, arrow keys are less efficient because using your pinky and thumb is more awkward because the surrounding buttons are higher up than with wasd. Those arrow key people try WASD, and decided it's no good for them because they didn't do as well using it simply because they weren't used to WASD. You have to be careful where you get your reviews for different mice; I don't trust critics like those on CNET at all when it comes to mice. Gamers on forums generally seem to be the most helpful, because they use their mice daily and optimize themselves to do as well as possible, whereas the critics are just paid to shit out some opinion on the mice based on a lot of factors that gamers don't actually too much of a shit about, such as number of buttons, ergonomics, DPI settings, etc etc. But keep in mind that not all gamers are alike either, a lot get a certain brand (Logitech/Razer/etc.), like the mouse a lot compared to their last shitty generic one, and then side with that brand and defend it to the death (MX518 users come to mind, FP seems biased towards MX518). Those gamers don't truly compare mice, they get what they think is nice but don't compare it to other top tier mice. I think the Quake Live forums generally have some useful opinions on mice, involving information that is actually useful, mainly regarding the sensor of a mouse and not the other retarded bullshit like buttons and DPI.
I sawed my deathadder in half when it broke in mad mad rage. Lasted about 6 months. Bought a G400 after that.
Definitely go for the G500, I've tried both and a preferred it over the DA
Based on my experience with logitech, I'd say the g500.
G500. I've tried both, and the G500 was way better.
For functionality, G500, for sore hands and angry people, Deathadder.
odellus is banned so im gonna say intellimouse for him
Didn't he get a last warning to be permabanned for flaming like 2 years ago or something, he's like getting banned every couples of months for it still lol But yeah I agree, IMO/WMO is one of the best, if not number 1, for mouses.
Could just get a cheapo mouse and not worry about it...
He kind of has a point, but not really at the same time. Having a peripheral that is dedicated to gaming isn't going to make you better at the activity, I hope this is something you are well aware of, and it won't put you at an advantage when it comes to gaming, it's mostly just for comfort/preference. I hear for example that the Intellimouse 3.0 works just as well if not better then many gaming mouses from a lot of people who have used it, and that it's pretty cheap on top of that. If anything, if you still want to roll with a gaming mouse, the G400 I hear is one of the best even now, or as I said, the Intellimouse 3.0 is pretty good.
Get the G400.
Had a Deathadder for 6 months, side buttons stuck down then stopped working so I took it apart and the frail little tab that clicks your left click snapped off with the effort of picking up the cheap plastic mouse. Broke nearly every piece off of the cheaply made pile of shit to see how well it was made and I was even further disapointed in the quality. Bought a G500 2 years ago and it still looks and works brand new. The Deathadder accumulated gunk from my hands some how in all of the cracks and I had to clean it every so often as well. The design and ergonomics of the Deathadded are quite good but the mouse is quite poorly made. The G500 feels soild as hell in my hand and I wouldn't trade it for any other mouse ever.
Why is everyones DA breaking? I've had mine for about 3 years and it's still good as new, even after being dropped many times onto hard surfaces.
I don't like small mice, lightweight mice or ergonomic mice. I like decently sized - large mice, and don't start adding other mice into this, I'm asking g500 or Deathadder, not g400 or razer naga or crappy 200 DPI childs mouse.
