That was FUCKING AMAZING! YES! Amazing soundtrack/setting... also we get to see a bit more Vietnam in games now. I'm ultra hyped right now.
2K did an outstanding job with mafia 1 and 2, III is not going to disappoint.
2K did an outstanding job with mafia 1 and 2, III is not going to disappoint.
No they fucking didn't. They cut Mafia II the fuck up. All those minigames, locations, abilities, and half the fucking storyline was cut. It was a fucking disaster, and they dared to sell some of it as DLC. I'm not having any of this.
yeah and Mafia III ran into some production issues so careful purchasing this without hearing about how it plays first [editline]5th August 2015[/editline] over the top to call Mafia II a "fucking disaster" though IMO, was still enjoyable- especially as cheap as the game has been sold for on Steam
Of course. I only bothered to try it when I got it for free on Steam. Still, you should read on what 2K did to the devs, and how they cut the game up. This one isn't even being cone by the Czech division. Don't believe the hype. I repeat. Don't believe the hype.
The trailer looks great, and the gameplay they showed looks pretty good. I'm kind of bummed this isn't the most Italian game ever made though. I loved the amotsphere in the first two.

Bayou? this might be taking place in my own back yard. 1960s is my favorite decade for cars too. this should be a very fun game for me
Ever since GTA left the mob scene, Mafia has been my go to game. I am looking forward for this.
As much as I love the Italian Mafia setting, I can't support their decision to mix it up enough. This looks amazing.
Yeah I guess, but there haven't been a lot of Mafia games or games with similar settings so I'm not bored with it or anything. Also it's called Mafia III, I can't help but think of the Italian mob when I hear Mafia. Again it looks decent and I'll definitely give it a chance, I've been dying for another one of these games.

If you include in the final product everything created during the dev process you'd have one bloated and incoherent pile of poop
Looked super nice. Really enjoyed II even with all the flaws. Looking forward to it. Setting and characters seem neat, soundtrack's going to be radical. The only thing I'm not 100% on is the main dude's voice. Doesn't really seem to fit. He sounds like Danny Glover, I was half expecting to hear him say "I'm too old for this shit" at the end of the trailer.
Um yeah that's how development of a product works? If you include in the final product everything created during the dev process you'd have one bloated and incoherent pile of poop
I think the reason people are so mad about Mafia II was they announced it in 2007 and showed gameplay shortly after that. A lot of that stuff was far from finalized, it didn't come out until 2010.
1968 New Orleans sounds so exotic. Maybe I just missed them, but I think there is a serious lack of games set in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Imagine a new No One Lives Forever, or Remedy finally made Dick Justice.
Um yeah that's how development of a product works? If you include in the final product everything created during the dev process you'd have one bloated and incoherent pile of poop
Problem with the cut Mafia II content wasn't that they had bad ideas, but that they ran out of time & money to implement the ideas. That's what pisses people off, since many feel like they would've gladly waited longer and paid more in return for a much in-depth game with the same setting.
Um yeah that's how development of a product works? The guy in the suit at the very end of the trailer, is that the guy from Mafia II?
Except Metal Gear and Deus Ex are among the most critically acclaimed games due to just how much shit you can do in them.
But that's wrong. They're critically acclaimed games because the content is good, not because there's a lot of it.
The guy in the suit at the very end of the trailer, is that the guy from Mafia II?
The old guy on the right is Vito.
The driving physics look horrible, and everything explodes when you touch it. The gameplay they showed was riddled with bugs. I'm reserving my hype for now.

You can believe the hype, get dissapointed, then just refund the fucker. And screw off I can be as excited as I want to be for a game series I've enjoyed, and I'm gonna look forward to this one.
Except Metal Gear and Deus Ex are among the most critically acclaimed games due to just how much shit you can do in them.
So was Call of Duty 4. Lemme fucking set you straight, after ALOT of open world games and doing alot in them, you feel ragged. Sometimes a single player, shooting pipe gallery is just a nice thing to help you release some steam.
I got hyped from the announcement of its existence, I got even more hyped watching the trailer, then fucking House of The Rising Sun came on. Holy shit I cannot wait. [QUOTE=Pvt. Fortunate Son or bust
they're also series well known for their production budgets and lengthy development processes
This isn't exactly a small production, you know. The marketing alone was through the roof.
But that's wrong. They're critically acclaimed games because the content is good, not because there's a lot of it.
Are you saying the cut content wasn't actually good? Bullshit. They cut the story in half. The final mission you play isn't even the ending. There's even more chapters than you think. They cut more than half the game alone.
Guess what, Steam has a refund service. You can believe the hype, get dissapointed, then just refund the fucker. Things like preorders were not anticipated by Adam Smith, you know.
preordering is still bad, buyers remorse is a thing and i can bet you if the game sucks people will still play it for more than 2 hours
It was, but then people mass refunded Batman Arkham City, and look what happened. [editline]5th August 2015[/editline]
Please try to keep capitalism stable. Things like preorders were not anticipated by Adam Smith, you know.
What? :v:
It was, but then people mass refunded Batman Arkham City, and look what happened. [editline]5th August 2015[/editline] What? :v:
I'm saying that preordering is bad for the economy, and that even considering it is a bad idea. Wait for press( not from a bigname, mind you), then only buy it full-price if it's declared the best stuff on Earth, and then refund it if you realize you've made the mistake of you're life.
Or maybe just buy it if you think it looks fun instead of turning into this major event involving 2 weeks of research and review hunting before tentatively buying it
In this current economic crisis, such a hasty solution would be most unwise. Your dollars support a corporation that could do everything in it's power to focus on profit, and profit alone, while ignoring any fanbase. 2K is not known to be one to listen to fans, and the Czech division is the only one that evidently gives a damn about video games. Anything else is just the same 'progressive' mumbo jumbo with zero substance that the western market's been feeding us so recently. Don't be hasty. Take a day to look up facts, and be a careful consumer. Don't take timeshares.
