I was playing a game that requires a pretty large resolution (1280x1024) and my laptop does not have this mode available (biggest is 1600x768). I read a trick that involved pressing Win + P, selecting extend, going to the display settings page, and moving the second display to the top. This worked, but I attempted to set the second monitor's resolution to 1600x1024 and set it as the main display. This caused my computer to give me a black screen. Now whenever I attempt to "extend" the displays, this same thing happens. How can I reset the imaginary second display's resolution, since I can't do that unless I select "extend" (causing the crash)?
PS: Is there any way to make the monitor emulate a larger mode or otherwise extend the desktop?
This problem is caused by the screen not being able to display the resolution resulting in it becoming black. To fix this, right click on the desktop and select resolution. Here you should be able to configure settings regarding resolution and such.
