wooooo, this is going to be fun
is it worth buying? not sure if should buy
Held off on buying this. I'll wait for a verdict from people.
I would buy but I don't get money till a week. Maybe there will be a mod or something that unlocks the Double Barrel shotgun.
What the hell, I had to restart Steam twice in order to get it to start decrypting files. Gave me some error about closing all games before verifying the cache the first time. :v:
Way more excited about the Doom 3 source release that'll be expedited because of this.
Rage sucks. (User was banned for this post ("trolling" - GunFox))
Have you played it yet? To come to an educated conclusion on how good it is?
Are the graphics settings fixed? I hear everywhere that you can't adjust the visuals aside from resolution and AA
I have a bad gut feeling about this. The last time a game released with zero pre-reviews, was Brink. ...And we all know how that turned out.
I have a bad gut feeling about this. The last time a game released with zero pre-reviews, was Brink. ...And we all know how that turned out.
nearly every game these days have some kind of review embargo so i don't really think it's something to worry about
Rage sucks.
I bet you did that just to see peoples reaction.
Rage sucks.
I cancelled my preorder for the Collectors Edition because of this. Thank you for your words of wisdom, I'll never understand how I was so blind to your glorious logic.
Buying it to help fund Doom 4, wee
I have yet to see anything that makes Rage itself special. Seems like all the hype is more about the engine than the game itself.
So I played a bit of Rage... So far it's not really that great. The gameplay just has this stale feeling to it; and the gunplay is terrible. But that's just the first mission and a half, hopefully the rest of the game is better than its introductory mission.
I'll admit the only thing I know about Rage is that there are some people looking forward to it and there's an awesome robo spider pet. But otherwise the gameplay video I saw looked like a slightly below average standard grey-brown post-apocalyptic shooter with touches from Fallout (not basing my verdict on the final game on that or everything, but that's how much I've gathered). I guess the graphics were good, but if I just want good graphics I'll watch a movie. Did anyone get a completely different view on it so far?
Game itself, amazing. Graphics, pretty damn good. (aside from texture pop-in bug) Buggy as fuck though, and seems to suffer from consoleitis. (specifically the lack of video options)
Yeah... I'm gonna hold off on buying this for now. It reeks of console port
Anyone else have any comments on this? I was thinking of buying it but I was waiting for the reviews.
Rage sucks.
Well buddy you sure did click the right thread!
I think console port has become a standard for PC games lately.
I heard that the game will just adjust the graphics on the fly to keep 60 fps on your hardware, so if you have a good gpu your game will look the best it can and run at a good fps.

I'll decide my graphical performance to FPS ratio for myself, I don't need nor want the game to do it for me.
Meh, holding off so i can buy Saint's Row: The Third(god forbid that it has consoleitis like this game supposedly does).
Do not buy it. The game is BROKE. The graphics are ugly, I don't get what the fuck the hype was about "hyper textures" and I can barely maintain 10 fps on a computer. that can run the BF3 beta smoothly. Takes forever to download and decrypt for a giant kick to the nuts. Thanks John Carmack you fucking asshole. The entire game is fucking consolized to shit, also. Feels like a giant retarded broke tech demo.
No game is worth 60 dollars.

Heh, optional options!
No game is worth 60 dollars.
Your right, Half Life 3 would be worth $120
I told you guys, have you learned your lesson?
Rage sucks.
There's only a few minor problems I have with it. •There seems to be an issue with the overlay if you open it before you reach the main menu where you cannot interact with the overlay and it gets stuck open. •Mouse sensitivity is annoying. I have it maxed out and that's just barely enough for the main game but in menus my cursor moves so fast that I can't even figure out where it is most of the time because it's stuck in a corner. •No graphics options other than anti-aliasing and resolution. I'd prefer to have graphics options there personally. And I'd especially like to have v-sync enabled because graphical tearing is really obvious to me in this game for some reason. •As someone else mentioned above me, there's an issue with textures seemingly popping. If you do a quick 180º spin, the textures are all really blurry behind you for a split second. It's kinda annoying. •Another thing I dislike is the field of view. I'm not sure what it is currently but it's too low at the resolution I'm playing at. I actually personally enjoy the game play so far. And it doesn't really seem too much like Borderlands to me past the obvious similarities. Plays very differently in my opinion.
Are the graphics settings fixed?
