Why can't they just admit this is how it's going to be without any stupid excuses.
People who are interrested are still going to buy it.
So he is just saying that PC users have to deal with their games being dumbed down to a console level in the interest of fairness.
What, this is like forcing console users to use keyboard and mouse.

This port is identical to every Dead Space pc port so far.
Dead Space has ALWAYS been a bare-bones pc port with minimal graphics options, but it's always performed very well and nobody's complained.
Not only this, but Dead Space has ALWAYS had action-oriented marketing. Even the first game had actiony trailers.
There is literally nothing different about Dead Space 3 so far, except completely ignorable microtransactions. People are whining about nothing. The game's probably gonna be great just like the last two.

I don't understand how you people get to this conclusion
They're saying they want everyone to have the same experience. How is that a bad thing? Why should the PC version be superior in every way, instead of just the keyboard and mouse functionality? How is that fair? Are you that entitled?
Of course there's going to be options for anti-aliasing and better shadows and stuff. Even if there wasn't, which there will be, you can always force that stuff anyway. That's the huge perk of playing on PC. The only thing they're not changing are the models and textures. That's what they mean about the same experience. No extra ADDED stuff, no exclusive content. Everyone gets the same game, but a different method of playing it.
That's pretty much what i meant Rusty.
That wasn't what i was commenting on "We want to make sure everyones having the same experience"
Isn't necessary since it's okay to do what you just pointed out.
Which i agree with...
I snipped the first part because it didn't make any sense when i looked at it after.

Because this very concept is why games technologically are still where they are today. Holding back a game from the actual capabilities of its engine, just to cater to lower hardware platforms. If this were something that happened 10 or 15 years ago, technological breakthrough games such as quake, unreal tournament, and their successors would never have come around.

I can't thank you enough for putting what I've been thinking thus far into words. Every time news comes out on Dead Space 3 everyone almost instantly begins bashing it. I for one am highly anticipating this.
From what I've seen they improved the graphics a bit from DS2 but it's not a huge jump. But we'll have new weapon system, enemies and upgrade system. I personally enjoy nice graphics but they aren't that important for me as long as they "work". I can understand they won't add more features for the PC because it's too much work for one platform and I can respect that. Instead of blaming the developers I think we should direct the hate to old consoles.
It's exactly because I don't want to have the same experience from consoles that I play games on a PC.
As developers, you want to deliver an experience that's as similar as possible on different platforms.
are you fucking kidding me, you want to deliver an experience that is shit because consoles are shit, bullshit you're just fucking lazy developers.

I think the unfairness comes from we PC users more or less have 7 to 10 years over the consoles when it comes to hardware, but thanks to Devs being money hungry and latching onto the console market for so long, the market is saturated with Made-For-Console games and decade old hardware, and being rushed to port for PC. It's getting old and stale. This will be solved, temporarily, when the new consoles come out, but when it comes to gaming, the PC is held hostage by the console market. And that's bullshit. What's really pushing the limits of hardware when it comes to gaming? Crysis? Anything else? If the same thing that happened with the 360/PS3/and PC Hardware happens with the new consoles, I guarantee you AMD or maybe even nVidia one will be shutting down at least some of their doors
Well, fuck you, we want a BETTER experience, because our hardware is BETTER than old-ass outdated consoles. Who cares if it's fair? We have superior hardware, so our experience should be superior.
I bet they're just afraid everyone will pirate it, so they're not making any more than the bare minimum effort to port it.
Fuck EA

This kind of attitude gets us nowhere.

I agree that dead space has always been a console port. But why shouldn't the PC version be superior? the consoles version graphics are obviously throttled down due to low end hardware. Pc's on the other hand generally have better hardware, so why shouldn't there be vastly greater graphics options?
Just because dead space has always been a port doesn't mean shouldn't start fixing that now. They shouldn't be making the pc version better just because it's a pc, they should making the pc version better because the pc has limits that far exceed the limits of a console and thus there are more possibilities and options.

Prepare to be massively disappointed.
I've been a huge fan of DS1 (despite the pretty bad port when it comes to PC controls) and DS2 (that fixed it), but I definitvely not recommend DS3 imho.

I thought DS2 was a thoroughly excellent game that fixed DS1's problem of feeling like a repetitive grind after the first few hours. It's on my favorite games list.
This, however, looks like shit that was designed by a marketing committee desperate to make a quick grab at all the money they see the mobile developers are making selling points to stupid people.

I'm really surprised people are still believing Dead Space 3 is going to be great (probably enjoyeable for some people at best, I have no doubts about that, but the reception from the leaked game is weak so far) despite EA constantly screwing over its franchises and its customers.
The writing in DS3 made me fucking cringe. It's like they're competing with ME3 in that field.
Visceral, your PS3 version of Dante's Inferno had an artbook and the entire Divine Comedy in text form as console exclusive on-disc bonuses.
I know that I'm probably the only person who still remembers that game, aside from your shareholders, but that isn't an excuse to start pulling revisionist history.
I could look past the Origin exclusiveness, but all the recent news has me completely avoiding this game.
