Quite a few British ISP's have issues with modems, I had to give up trying to get a modem + router setup to talk to Tiscali / TalkTalk LLU and am now just using a WAG150N modemrouter (which does the job, not brilliantly but it does it)

Thank god my ISP still offers separate modem if you bully their support line enough :haw:
