• PS3 controller?

I'm going to get some kind of controller to use with PS1/2 emulators, and I'm wondering if a PS3 controller will work. The way I would connect it, would be with the USB cable that is included (am I right?) with it I guess. I've heard of MotioninJoy, am I right that it emulates a 360 controller? Are there any problems with that that I should know about, and would it work with PSXfin and PCSX2?
I've tried, there's one that works but only with 32-bit XP, and if you install it on anything else it does some shit like removing all USB and Ethernet drivers or something. I wouldn't reccomend it, gamepads are cheap anyway, not worth the hassle.
I'd want one with a D-pad like the Playstation one, though. Looked at a 360 one, but I heard the D-pad on it sucks.
I got a $40 Logitech one - it works fine.
Something like this? Would like some other opinions about the PS3 controller before I buy something though. Oh, and I forgot to say this, but the computer that the controller will be connected to will pretty much be dedicated to emulation.
MotionInJoy works with every windows OS just fine, including 64 bit.
MotionInJoy works with every windows OS just fine, including 64 bit.
Does it emulate a 360 controller, so that every game that works with 360 controllers work perfectly with it? And I heard of some problems about that with 64-bit Windows or something, I think.
It has a 360 Controller emulation mode that you can toggle, I haven't tried it personally though.

It's a bit engrish though, but there's videos you can watch to figure it out. I played TDU2 just fine with it, it detected it as a 360 controller.
A 360 controller is probably the best game controller I've ever held in my hand. You wouldn't regret it.

I read now that you have to disable driver signature enforcement for it to work, but I guess that's just a one-time thing, right? You don't have to do that any more.
So it should work perfectly just by installing Motioninjoy and enabling 360 controller emulation? Gonna buy one if so, it's pretty much the perfect controller for PS1 games.
They got their drivers signed so it all works without having to disable the driver enforcement hacks, I can verify because I installed and used it last week, I had a few problems setting it up but eventually figured it out, I even got it working wirelessly with bluetooth (note that it disables your bluetooth for other devices if you use it for motioninjoy - it has to do some hack to connect to it or something.) But it works fine wired, too.
If you have trouble getting it to work, you could try enabling driver test signing mode by opening a command prompt and typing "bcdedit set TESTSIGNING ON", case-sensitive. That'll enable it in the boot config, so you don't have to spam F8 every time you boot up.
I use my PS3 controller with a PS1 emulator using Motionjoy, works fine.
Ah! They finally got their drivers signed? That was a nightmare
