I wouldn't be surprised if the developers contacted him judging by the quick response on twitter.

Never played ED, but this is probably quite shocking for something you got used to to suddenly be changed like that. Considering it's first time for anyone in 3 years.
Nothing scares or shocks more than unexpected occuring in something you have always seen and got used to.

I guess many people have tried warframe here, so i'll post a thing. (Kinda similar situation altho not so rare)
During the usual loading animation where you see your party flying ships together before entering mission i got this:

This was some time ago when Second Dream quest in Warframe was added and i really freaked out from seemingly not so special thing. But after seeing that loading for several hundreds of times for it to suddenly do that was really weird.

this might just be the very thing that can get me back into the game, provided frontier doesn't sit on their ass after this and do fuck all with it
this could be a major plot point that gives people reason to pick the game up again
they've already succeeded with getting me install it again just so i can witness this for myself

I kind of agree in the sense that it's a very strange multi-page interview describing a blow-by-blow of what boils down to like, one minute of events in-game. The best word I can use to describe it is [I]bloated[/I].
I don't think anything would be different about the article if it was just something like "Robert Bettig (AKA CMDR DP Sayre) was the first person to encounter a strange and never-before-seen phenomenon etc etc etc." Well, except for giving the author a chance to flex his descriptive writing muscles.

It's a nice utility that, if anything, adds more credibility to the whole thing... If you're questioning how genuine the whole thing is.

It was the lead up to a quest that answered a long standing question of what exactly the Tenno (the things what control the warframes) are. Of note, the recent follow up questions cleared up even more, but not everything.

eh, it's neat that the guy discovered aliens, but i don't think he should be getting an interview and all these highlights over it.
