Ahh, the joys of bussing tables... So, I can finally afford a new computer after a couple months of saving up. I'm pretty confident in my choices, but some second opinions never hurt. BUDGET: $700 (American, if that needed any clarification) RULES and other misc notes: I already have a monitor and OS. I do need a keyboard, mouse, and headset, so keep that in mind. I welcome any changes to the stuff I've picked out, just keep it under budget. Also, I decided on a 4870 over a 4890 because they're too expensive. I don't need a 5xxx card because my monitor's max resolution is 1280 x 1024, so I'd actually get more performance out of the card I picked, according to some benchmarks I read. Don't get a seagate HDD, they always fucking die dude. I have had 3 seagates die on me, and my uncle who also lives here has had like 2 die on him.

EDIT: I just noticed you took out my sidewinder : / Fine, I guess. I think I have an optical lying around that will do just fine 'till I can afford a good mouse.
You can remove the keyboard for a cheaper one. So you can put a mouse of your choice.
Yeah, I'll do that. I don't need the nice keyboard anyway, but...it was marked down and...so pretty... And when I read the reviews for the cheaper keyboards, people always manage to find a way to make them sound like crap. But I'll deal.
There really is no advantage to a gaming keyboard. The best keyboard I've ever owned, I got for $3 from a thrift store. I've owned everything from basic Microsoft keyboards to high end Logitech keyboards.
Alright, I'm going with Quantuam's reccomendations, with an exception to the keyboard. I'll be getting this one instead, along with this mouse, which puts my shopping cart at $685.36. A tad bit under budget, which make me cringe a little less at the cost of shipping. My thanks to Quantuam. I've got my pointer on the purchase button, any objections?

Enjoy your new build, It should max almost any game on the market.
If you have a spare $50 get a 5770 for the DX11 + better performance (when the driver updates are released)
Well, I don't have a spare $50. And I already purchased everything. :v:
