Looking to build a machine for a friend, no clue what parts to get, can anyone please help out? UK build. Have mouse, keyboard monitor Speakers and a wifi pci card. Have a copy of windows 7 too. Thanks in advance.
Is the Windows 7 64bit or 32bit? Also, what games does he plan on playing and what is the resolution/size of the monitor?
Just say 32 bit but if you are planning 4gb ram, put it in anyway.. His words: "Im not a hardcore pc gamer but a few games will be played on it yes other than that, watch some high def media i suppose, photoshop and maybe some engineering software in the future due to my course, so things like CAD etc..." Not got resolution yet.
Can he spent a little bit more than 450£(pounds) or is that the absolute limit? ^ Shit build Give me 10 mins to make a better one [editline]05:23PM[/editline] Motherboard:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/192845 RAM:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/147903x2 Case:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/151368 PSU:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/150985 GPU:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/222051 HDD:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/146252 Optical drive:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/176026 CPU:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/191956 £450 dead on [editline]05:27PM[/editline] If your friend could spend a bit more he should get this RAM for £15 more: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/146049 And that PSU is only just enough so you may want to spend another £15 on this to give him a bit more headroom for upgrades: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/141007 I would recommend spending the extra money now if he can as it's only £30

OP, take Finley's build.
