Just saved up some money, want to build a new PC able to run games like Skyrim, Guild Wars 2 in High settings. I would prefer not to go over £750 but i can go up to a £800 MAX budget. What are your recommendations? Switch the 660 over to a 7870 GHz edition. Better performance for the same price, or possibly less.
3GB on a 660? That's pretty much overkill for a mid-range card, if you ask me. Possibly balanced out the memory/performance badly. I'd go for what Eggplant suggested. 7870 from XFX.
Thanks, i'll add the 7870 to the build, is the case and PSU ok for size etc?
I think your cooler will fit, and your PSU surely is good enough to power what you have, in terms of wattage. To be sure, I'd check the amperage on the 12v rail, although I can't imagine it won't hold it. I can only imagine you want to keep $50 pocketed to buy games, right?
Yeah that's right, and what do you mean on the 12v rail?
Sorry for confusing you about that. I just looked into it and your PSU should be easily capable of holding your stuff, with around 85W spare.
alright nice, thanks man.
