I dunno but if you love 2007ish Youtube, give this a try. It probably ain't going nowhere like Vidme or whatever it was

the thing about an alternative is that with a lack of content it won't stand against current video sites, regardless of how much it resembles youtubes first emerging in the 'pre-youtube' era.
Video websites used to be rare and considered almost legendary, and we needed way more. Ironically, the latter hasn't changed.

that or we need someone to really kick googles ass with something that works as a perfect competitor.
Does it have pre-fucked up Youtube comments along with the pre-Google look?

Yes. It's a warm feeling.

Oh god, I remember the old YT tutorials with this song and the shitty quality recorder teaching you how to install mods on GTA SA, and you'd see they're still on Windows XP when everyone moved onto Windows Vista. The memories this video brought back...

There isn't one. If there was a viable YT replacement on the internet people would have fucked off in droves already, starting with the content creators themselves. Most of us who use YT are there because that's where the content we want to view is, not because of any brand loyalty, and if the majority of it goes to another side we'll follow that content.
I will say it's refreshing to see the old YT UI unrepentantly identical to how it was ten years ago. I miss most the little dropdown you could click from a video to see other videos by that uploader without having to visit their channel, shut their autoplaying vid up, go to their video tab, and poke around.
