The demo was the reason I canceled my pre-order. The series has gone too far downhill and this isn't helping. This isn't survival horror like Resident Evil is supposed to be - it's an action shooter with some jump scares.
Eh, it'll probably be fun playing co-op with a friend.

Code Veronica still looks pretty good, I don't think that needs a remake.
They did a remake of RE1, though. RE2 is just as dated. I'd like a remake of that; especially since everybody loves Leon.

As a huge Resident Evil fan I'm torn. I've not heard many good things about 6, but I'm not sure I can resist buying the sixth title. It's a series that defined my childhood, I played these games since I was around probably like 8 or 9 years old.
Even I have to admit that Resident Evil 5 was a step in the wrong direction, if 6 actually is worse then 5, then I fear that Resident Evil may not have a lot of life left in it. How did they mess up so much after the masterpiece that was Resident Evil 4.
Maybe it's time to move on and let the series rest. Too bad that won't happen cause it's Capcom's biggest money maker (Right?).

I've actually seen quite a lot of good views towards this one. Shacknews however seems to be actively trying to denigrate it, so I'm just treating everything they say on the matters as of little value.

I was so looking forward to Leon's section of the game, it fucking blew.
Chris and Jake's are mostly action, Chris's being all action.
Terrible camera, awful aiming, boring gameplay.

I really do wanna ignore my better judgment and buy it, but it really does sound like capcom is trying to ruin the series. Seriously capcom....just remake one of the older titles please? RE2 or RE3 would be awesome on current graphics.

Considering the shift they made, one would assume that a more action focused system is what is leading to its success. But to be quite frank, this is what Resident Evil would have been from the beginning if not for the limitations of the technology. This is how they wanted to do it, but they couldn't because the technology just wasn't there. Now that they have the technology, they can do it.

Admittedly it's on a handheld that hasn't sold well until recently but still.

The last Res game I actually completed and enjoyed finishing was 4, Aren't they releasing a demo on the 16th or something?
I loved RE5, played through it a bunch of times (although to be fair I never played RE4) but when I tried the demo for RE6.. Terrible. Aiming was god awful, despise the switch to "move while you aim", shoot while sliding, 'quick shots', the framerate was tanking the entire time I was playing too.
I had to force myself to get through Leon's part of the demo but when I tried Chris' I just stopped one minute into it and uninstalled the demo. Didn't even bother with the third section.
Although one thing I DID like was how different characters have different UI designs. THAT'S cool!
