• Is it bad that I want to die?

To start this off, I do not mean it in an emotional, "My life sucks," sort of way. I'm just fascinated by death, and what happens after, and about 3-4 months ago, I started to heavily contemplate about life after death. I have an amazing life, and wouldn't change a single thing about it, and yet I do not fear death in the slightest bit, and actually embrace it's occurrence. Is this bad? Should I seek help?
It makes you better than most.
It's good unless you're actually gonna kill yourself.

You should not seek help, just stop thinking about death. You're probably just in a "period", I also had one when I was very interested in death.
You shouldn't want to die, but it is a good thing that you don't fear it. If you stop thinking about death, you will probably be better off. I know that when I think about death, it makes me depressed, so I just avoid thinking about it. Maybe you should do the same.
well its not bad but its not good either, aslong as you dont hurt yourself or anyone else i'd say its ok.
You'll find out later.. You'd probably be pretty pissed if you wasted your life then found out all you do is sit and see black for all eternity. Don't think too much about it

Kill yourself and write down the results
Pondering death philosophically is fine, as long as it stays that way. Better for your mental state than worrying, in any case.
It's good as long as you don't take action on it. And as long as you still care for your life, e.g. don't just cross the road without looking and say "'TIS NOT MY CHOOSING WHETHER I DIE OR NOT SO LET THE GODS DECIDE MY FATE"
The way I see it, Death is a mystery, and inevitable. You might as well enjoy life now, as we don't know what death is. There is nothing wrong with what you think, and your obsession might be a bit... morbid.. but don't forget it. You should enjoy every single thing that happens to you in life, and be patient.
I often contemplate death as well. And oddly enough, I almost feel like I have experienced the sensation. But unlike you, I'm not in any hurry to know what lies beyond. I have other matters of spirituality and philosophy to ponder; death is only one of many for me. I don't know what to tell you, OP. It's a good thing that you don't fear death. If you really feel like you're a danger to your own life, seek help. And I don't mean through therapy or pharmaceutical means.
Why don't you off yourself, then come back here and let us know how it went.
No its not bad at all. Its just curiosity.
Join the Army.
Go see a psychiatrist. It's not healthy.
Do it and post pics.
If we put it as a shock picture, General Discussion will be overflowing with 10'ers going "how i change pic????"
What
I'd never take action on it, it's just one of those things I can't stop thinking about, no that I'd ever want to. Just making sure I wasn't out of the norm. And FP MD strikes again!
It makes you emo.
How old are you, early teens? If you were to come close to death, you would realize how much you wouldn't want to die and I bet you'd be just as scared as the next person about death. Sure, you might wonder what's after death, but you shouldn't trick yourself as into thinking it might be cool. Try and realize the good things you have and what you'd miss out of if you died. Things you haven't got to try yet, then think about if you want to die. The only plausible reason I could see you'd like to die is if you see a positive life after death, so it's safe to assume you're religous? Let's think about that, then. If you were to die, do you think that you'd go up to some eternally light place, and do what, exactly? Sure, no fighting, conflicts of any kind. But that would make socializing a heck of a lot more boring. What would you have to do? I can't think of anything. It seems like it would get boring quite quickly. Now, think of the opposite end of the spectrum. There is absolutely nothing. Equally boring, isn't it? Seems like a lose-lose situation if you were to die. I'm sure this is just a phase your going at where you think you have thoughts that are much more interesting than other peoples, correct? Thus evidenced by the thread you created. Stop thinking your so special in thinking of death the way you are. People think about it everyday, so just get on with your life. And stop wasting ours.
No you shouldn't, just because you're intrigued by the theory of life after death and the things surrounding it doesn't mean you should seek help, I'd say it's perfectly normal.
Go see a psychiatrist. It's not healthy.
Just because you fear death doesn't mean everyone else has to. Read his post instead of just the thread title. I agree with OP. It's fine. [editline]05:52PM[/editline]
Now, think of the opposite end of the spectrum. There is absolutely nothing. Equally boring, isn't it? Seems like a lose-lose situation
It wouldn't be boring because the feeling of boring wouldn't apply anymore. When you die, your consciousness retroactively ceases to exist.
If you do die sometime don't forget to make a thread about it.. I'm quite interested...
Dude, you're a gold member. You can't die!

Where did you get it ? Yes I think this is bad, but I'm not completely sure. Do you think you should?
