Soo, i had a nvidia GeForce 8600m GS in my Acer laptop, i loved her, she loved me... but during a looong summer day playing portal 2, she awfully died... Then i took to fix my computer and i got my graphic card replaced with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT, and the technician told me to get drivers from ATI support, but in ATI Web Page only asks me to go to manufacturer's website, and of course, Acer dont have drivers for my computer and graphics card because my new video card is from a different manufacturer than the original one... I've tried to install drivers i found in different sites but i get some weird patchs in windows and wallpaper... and sometimes, the ati driver crashes, causing the well known bluescreen of death. Can someone help me, or suggest a place where i can get right drivers for this Video card. thanks in advice ^^
You should get your drivers from Acer, and you try bothering their support for a bit Could we have the exact model? Anyhow, you could try something like this: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/modtool.php Follow the steps carefully, and you should be fine.
It's a laptop.
Yeah thats pretty much what I said. [editline]28th June 2012[/editline]
er.. okay, thanks for the advice. Why do you hate this?
The standard smileys are retarded enough. :suicide:
er.. okay, thanks for the advice. Why do you hate this?
Because they're pretty annoying. Anyhow, I recommend trying out the drivermodder if you can't find the driver on the page I posted before - you won't damage your laptop with a wonky driver install.
