So I'm looking to get a ~700€ gaming pc that can run things smoothly. I don't know much about building a pc, but after seeing this video I thought of getting something like this (all prices are based on Amazon Italy):
CPU: Intel Core i5-3450 (173.25€)
RAM: DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaws 1066MHz 8GB (2x4GB) (64.52€)
Graphics: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 OC 2GD (178.10€)
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G43 (84,05€)
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200rpm 16MB SATA3 (48,40€) + 1TB External HDD I already own
Case: Fractal Design Core 3000 (80€)
DVD Drive: LG GH24NS95 (21,80€)
Power supply: Fractal Design Integra R2 500W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V (71€)
(Not including OS for now, but I'm most likely gonna get Win7 Home Premium 64-bit)
I'm still not sure about the case, because I want one that can have a good air flow / cable management (don't really care about esthetics).
What do you think of it? And would it be possible to lower the budget down to something like 650€ without affecting performance?
Oh, and I'm using a 1600 x 900 monitor.
You have a z77 chipset mobo. But you have a cpu that doesnt support overclocking. You can either get an i5-3570k or a cheaper h77 board.
Also get a better brand power supply or make sure this one is solid via professional reviews. Reccomend: Corsair, seasonic etc.

I'm not really planning to overclock the cpu and I don't want to spend more money on an aftermarket cpu cooler. That's why I chose an i5-3450.

fractal power supplies are very good quality
fractal power supplies are very good quality
I dunno, sounds iffy to me.

how? Fractal Design is an extremely reputable brand and HEC is good psu oem, there's nothing "iffy" about it
Looks like you are right.

750w version though.

HEC manufactures IEDs, what are you smoking?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007657%2050001446&IsNodeId=1&name=Compucase
I bought the 485W when it was on sale dirt cheap (like $15) to see what it was, and it was hilariously shit.
You know its shit when a pack of paper weighs more than all of it does.
It used Chinese Wofat capacitors that were woefully under rated and overloaded (only 1 cap on 12V rail LOL)
It completely lacked a transient filtering stage (backfeeding 20 kHz switching freq into mains)
It used four diodes instead of a bridge rectifier (this means it can only realistically pull 288W before the diodes burned)
The primary switching transistors were in a half bridge topology, which means shit efficiency (think at most 65%)
The 3.3v and 5v rails are "stronger" than the 12V rail, common on PSUs from the late 1990s
It has a -5V rail, which was banned from the ATX spec nearly a decade ago
All wires are of the wrong gauge (20 AWG instead of 18 AWG)
Anemic selection of power connectors for a supposed near-500W unit (MFG ploy to try and stop you from overloading double overspeced unit.)
HEC makes Logisys look good.
I'm all for Corsair in terms of Power Supply Units.

I was surprised given some of your recent posts, hadn't seen garry's thread yet

Every HEC branded PSU for sale on Newegg is some iteration of the fake 485W rating model. Every HEC branded PSU on Amazon is the same story, bar two that are manufactured by someone else and don't count.
Their cases are also shit, paper thin metal and plastic so fragile that touching it risks it crumbling.
I would count that as pretty much everything, unless there's some sketchy backwater retailer that sells their non-existent "better" PSUs.

IIRC Newegg doesn't ship to Europe, so I had to go for another PSU (Corsair Cmpsu-500Cxv2Eu).
Also I changed some things from last time: http://it.pcpartpicker.com/p/YKTL
Thoughts?

I'm talking about the fractal design Integra R2 series, not anything branded as HEC, there's even a review like 5 posts up. Are you on something or did you just miss all my posts other than the one you replied to?
