Name some up and coming technologies that will change our lives / the world?

I need some topic ideas for a speech (6-8 minutes) and it has to be on something that would be considered new information to most people. I was considering doing 3D printing, but apparently two other people picked that topic and I resorted to nanotechnology and three other people are doing that topic. I'd like something interesting that I can research that is truly amazing (save those two technologies) that we may expect to see in the distant future or is in alpha stages.
It doesn't have to be extremely technical, actually layman's terms would be fantastic considering the audience is just a college speech class. I was considering Google Glass, but I'm not sure yet. Thanks!
You could do quantum computers.
dunno if it counts but the ever changing internet might work
it's still changing every day and will arguably still be the most important technological concept 20 years from now
you could cover dozens of different breakthroughs that may happen in coming years related to that, like what kind of changes will happen in a world where literally everyone has access to the internet, even those in developing countries and those in poverty
Effective Penis enlargement drugs.
Artificial Pancreas
Very much interesting for those predisposed towards the diabeetus
Teleportation. They've been able to do it with particles so far.
The Singularity. Look it up. It's not one of those 'what-ifs', it's a question of when.
nanobots are the most practical / realisitc
How about LFTR? Liquid-Fluoride Thorium Reactor in full. It's pretty much the bridge between fission reactors and fusion reactors. They're pretty badass, don't need any thick shielding(because very little gamma emissions), inherently safe due to the safety system that will trigger if the fuel load gets too hot. Also fuel that's 1,000 times more abundant than uranium.
