That picture shits on everything the Brothers in Arms series is about.
The trailer was funny when you were watching it live at E3, but seriously. What the fuck have they done to brothers in arms?
Wow. It looks like fucking garbage.
For someone who's never played a Brothers in Arms game... I see no problem with the direction it went in. Although, I'm still fucking pissed about medal of honor going modern, so I guess I get what the fans are feeling. Still, this game looks quite fun. Most likely I'll be getting it.
"One of the reasons why we're not talking about it now is that it's evolving and we need to make further changes before we can start talking about it."
And you're making those changes because the original concept you showcased to us was a piece of shit mashup between Inglorious Basterds and Team Fortress 2 which had absolutely nothing to do with Brothers in Arms except in name only, and, following its debut, we called you out on its ridiculousness. And in all likelihood, it's still going to be shit even after you make your "changes". This is what Brothers in Arms is all about. This is pig vomit. Don't ruin the series guys... please? [editline]9th July 2012[/editline] Please?
THOSE SCREENSHOTS ARE OLD AS FUCK JUST SAYING They might have actually got their heads sorted out and realized we don't want a BS cartoony game.
If it wasn't titled Brothers in Arms, you'd all have a different opinion.
If it wasn't titled Brothers in Arms, you'd all have a different opinion.
Yes that is the fucking point They are abusing the brand name for sales. It is not a Brothers in Arms game. It is a game with that IP name slapped on so it'll get more sales.
That good thing is...they said that they will make a serious Brothers in Arms just like the old ones with Baker and co. so I can clearly just leave this out.
What, is it evolving to a higher realm of existence or something!?
They are abusing the brand name for sales. It is not a Brothers in Arms game.
If it wasn't titled Brothers in Arms, you'd all have a different opinion.
Ugh this^ seriously People in this thread are acting like Gearbox burned down a puppy orphanage, yes they shouldn't be using the IP just for brand recognition but dear god it looks fine beyond that calm down
You guys also do realize that it's not a proper sequel to BiA series, more of a sidestep/subseries. They're still making a proper sequel, too, AFAIK. Like with Battlefield series having Battlefield: Bad Company etc.
you guys...you dont understand...a second rate wwii video game ip .
These are the words that made your point lose all credibility.
Wasn't this game supposed to be an Inglourious Basterds sort of theme set in WW2?
Meh, BiA was never that great of a series to begin with. Great idea but the execution was always a bit off for me personally.
Am I the only one who liked the look of this game?
People who are bitching about it have BiA in the name need to realize it costs a LOT of money to push out a new IP. Which is why money-hoarders like Activision and EA do a lot of sequels. Gearbox isn't the richest of companies, and attaching this as a NON-CANONICAL WHIMSICAL SHOOTFEST to a good series is perfectly ok. This game has no effect on Baker or anyone else in the BiA universe. This is just like everyone who bitched about Bioshock Infinite having Bioshock in the title.
you guys...you dont understand...a second rate wwii video game ip is serious business and you should never put its name on a different style of game. i'm sorry, but this shit is something thats no fucking joke... now...now ill never be able to play the originals the same way...
considering the original BiA:RTH30 was made to try and break the mold of dull WWII shooters by creating a realistic, atmospheric squad-based shooter, i'd say it's a travesty to turn it into a retarded goofy gorefest.
The original BiA games were based on true stories, this is just a disgrace to all of it. Let's round up some veterans.
looks awful, brothers in arms or not. I don't want to play a cartoon looking piece of shit.
If it wasn't titled Brothers in Arms, you'd all have a different opinion.
Aint that fucking obvious? They are abusing the name to get sales, raping a awesome game series.
Aint that fucking obvious? They are abusing the name to get sales, raping a awesome game series.
This. Fuck them really, hearing and seeying that it ends up as some silly cartoony game is the saddest thing in the entire history of gaming. That series made me shed a tear.. once..
Uhh, guys, it's 'evolved' and that's a screenshot from last year. You remember what happened with Borderlands? 2008, nobody cared. They reworked the whole thing in a year with cel-shading and sillyness. They seem to be doing the opposite here, but I'd have to see recent footage to judge it.
Brothers in Arms was based around realisticish gameplay and was endorsed by some veterans associations afaik would a veterans association endorse this?
Brothers in Arms was based around realisticish gameplay and was endorsed by some veterans associations afaik would a veterans association endorse this?
I think that's why it says it's 'evolved', but I think I'm in rainbows
'Evolved' makes it seem like they're trying to get Brothers in Arms on the modern warfare bandwagon, a la Medal of Honor.
