• How does Windows 7 boot?

I am in the process of installing Arch Linux on my PC. To set up a correct boot table I need to know how Windows 7 boots. When you install Windows 7 on a clean HDD it creates two partitions. One with the repair tools from the boot disc, and a partition with Windows on. What I need to know is which one of the partitions that contains the boot files? When looking at the partition table with Arch Linux partition manager (cfdisk) It tells me that the first (recovery) partition is flagged as boot. But when looking at the partitions with Windows Disk Management it tells me that the second partition is the one that boots (The one that contains Windows). Which one is it?
The one with the repair tools is the one that contains the bootloader files, I'm pretty certain. Yes.
1st one
Should have been cool like me and setup Win7 with only one partition. :smug:
Yeah the one with the repair tools contains a backup of the bootmgr, the real one is stored on the first partition.
