Well, Intel just released Haswell. I currently have:
-i7-920
-6gb ram
-750w PSU
-GTX670 (soon to be 770)
My question is, would it be worth jumping from Nehalem to Haswell? I've had this CPU for almost 5 years, so I feel it would be worth jumping on a new i5. Sandy and Ivy bridge had some nice performance bumps but I know Haswell isn't as big of a bump though. I'd only need cpu, motherboard, ram, and a new case. Can you guys throw some opinions out here to help me figure out what to do? Thanks!
Going from a 920 to Haswell would be a pretty big jump in performance, and you'd lose the furnace to boot.
I decided to go for it. This is what I'm decided on so far:
- i5-4670K
- 8GB RAM (whatever brand)
- Corsair 800d
I'm still not sure on what board at all though. I just know I'd like to stick with Asus and (as silly as it sounds) have a red and black build. Any ideas?

If you want to stick with ASUS and go red and black, looks like these two boards are your only choices:

ASRock and ASUS are owned by the same company.

msi g45 gaming is also red and black. and pretty excelent for its price.
I like the first ASRock board alot, I'm just not a fan of the Fatality wording on the heatsinks.
This one doesn't seem half bad: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131976
I can use the rubber covers to cover the gold/beige color. Or I may wait for the Asus Maximus boards that should be out soon. Oh, I do plan on overclocking eventually as well.
Do you really need a board thats that expensive?
I'm about in the same boat with the processor, got an i7-965. Got it second hand (probably third or fourth actually), but I'm looking to upgrade the processor and Mobo in the next couple of months.
I don't remember the exact name of it, but i know asus released a cheaper-than-usual ROG motherboard(which is red+black and my favourite mobos)
I'm quite sure it's better than the sabertooth

It's called the Maximus VI Hero, and should be around the price of the sabertooth
Ya that's the exact one I was shooting for. Amazon has it for around $250, which isn't too bad. I gotta get my case first then I'll start getting parts.
EDIT: They have a VI Hero, but it says it's for 1156. Well I at least know the going price of it.

Thats still a really expensive board made for overclocking to the max.
Just get the ASUS Deluxe or extreme if you just want to game and still overclock.
Or in my opinion. The MSI z87 g45 gaming. Which has better sound, a lower price and the only thing thats really missing is a hex bios display.
I have another question. I've been looking at the Corsair 800d and am almost 100% on it. I plan on doing full liquid cooling down the road, but for a few months I will be running air cooling. I know it's meant for liquid, but will my temps suck that much by running air for a while?
EDIT: And are there any fans that stand out from the rest? I expect a nice fan to be around $15-$25 each, so give me some options! (please...)

Aircooling is almost as good as water cooling. In fact I wouldnt bother with water cooling unless you plan on overclocking a shitload. In my opinion its more of a gimick than actually needed for gaming.
