So here's the scoop. I work at BestBuy so some things may be cheaper, and I will take a look at them tomorrow while I work but for now: I'm looking to spend about 500-600 dollars. I will be re-using keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, hard drive, and video card. I made a small shopping cart on newegg that has: Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156078 Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157244 PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152028 Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727 RAM: (Through crucial.com) But it'll be 8GB for about $100 dollars. My total is looking at around 469. Can someone tell me what else I could add to maybe get it to 600 that might give me a little bit better performance? Or maybe add a video card or something. Thank you, FP. :iiam:

Nope. But does it really hurt to have it? Would you recommend an intel processor instead? Or.. if you could help me with a build, that'd be dope. :)
if you aren't going to utilize 8gb then there's no point in having it. [editline]27th May 2011[/editline] amd is better at this budget
I suppose. So what other board would you recommend? Or board + CPU. Surprise me, go a bit above the price range if you need to.
wait until there are better AM3+ boards on the market. the current selection isn't great.
What video card do you have right now?
