Hi Guys, I am building my first Gaming PC with a budget in the vicinity of $1500 AUS. I have used the website pccasegear.com for my purchases, however I am not sure if the parts are compatible or if they are wise decisions. I would like to purchase this system within the next week. I am yet to decide on a case, any help in this department would be appreciated Here are the parts I have chosen are bellow, however my selection can also be viewed here: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=wish_lists&wlcId=113938&action=wish_lists Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Motherboard: $135.00 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=19867 CPU: Intel Core i5 3570: $205.00 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=20893 GPU: Palit GeForce GTX 670 Jetstream 2GB: $405.00 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=20324 RAM: Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3: $46.00 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=16437 HDD: Western Digital WD Black 1TB WD1002FAEX: $99.00 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=13660 SSD: Samsung 840 Series 120GB SSD Retail Box: $105.00 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=22033 PSU: Silverstone Strider Plus 600W ST60F-P: $109.00 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=15349 WiFi Adapter: ASUS PCE-N15 Wireless N PCIe Adaptor: $35.00 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=18067 Monitor: Samsung S24B370H 24in Widescreen LED Monitor: $189.00 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=21402 Controller: Xbox 360 Black Wireless Controller for Windows: $55.00 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=16958 Total: $1387.00 P.S. Do not mind shipping, that is irrelevant for my situation. I do have some leniency with price, however please do not exploit this! I am a little concerned with the ssd, as I have heard bad things about the samsung 840 series. Also, the 1tb black wd HDD was chosen over the 2tb Seagate Barracoda http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=210_344&products_id=19554 as I have, again, heard bad things about this hdd. Overclocking does not appeal to me as it voids warranty, and additional cooling options are needed. Hopefully I wont need to either. The case would need to be something that not only looks great, but provides great airflow... alike all cases people want.... Also, nothing too big. If it hits around 1500 and allows my system to work well, thats great! I do not need keyboard, mouse, audio solutions, optical drive, or a version of windows as this has been pre-purchased (win7 64bit enterprise) Thank you for all your help, I am truly greatful :) If you could also help me with a case, that would be greatly appreciated. This PC will be running games such as AC3, BF3, FIFA 13, etc. I hope these games will run to near max settings. This computer will be used for gaming, movies, storage and web surfing. Thank you in advance, --qwop
Bump... Please help!
The 840 Pro doesn't have the issues associated with the regular 840, but is also a bit more expensive http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=210_902_1370&products_id=22102 If you get a processor capable of overclocking, it won't void the warranty. A good heatsink would only set you back another $35. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=20138 + http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=18670 Everything else seems good, but you could save a little bit of money by getting a wired Xbox 360 controller if the wire wouldn't bother you. As far as cases go, http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=25_733&products_id=19320, http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=25_1171&products_id=20157, and http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=25_31&products_id=21596 are all great cases for the price. [editline]8th December 2012[/editline] If the price hike between the 840 and 840 Pro is a little too much, then http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=210_902_1006&products_id=21300 is almost as fast as the Pro while still being a bit cheaper.

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=186_218_1125&products_id=17729 Low Profile Vengeance will be a ton easier to work with when installing an aftermarket heatsink if you want to use slots 1/3 for your RAM. If you like the taller heatsink design then slots 2/4 will work just as well. After everything I've recommended along with the Antec Gaming One case it should come out to $1539.
the Antec Gaming One case.
This case has 2 fans which are both exhaust.. shouldn't i go for something with a few more fans included? Also, does positive/negative air matter that much? From what I have heard, I think I would want positive cooling? I'm just wondering if the two fans will be enough (I would rather not buy after-market fans, i would prefer them to come with it. My budget could probably go out another 50 or so) maybe this? The 500R is a great case, some nicer features than the 400R but when it comes down to it the cases use the same shell and skeleton. If it's worth it to you then get the 500R but the 400R will do you just as well if you want to save a little bit more.
