I lost my A/C charger part for my iphone so I currently charge it via USB, but it takes an hour just for it to charge up to 30% is there any way I can make it charge faster? I don't even use it while it's charging and it still takes a long time.
As it nears capacity it will charge faster, actually.
Buy a $1 usb wall outlet like i did.
It charges at the exact same rate over USB as it does from the AC adaptor 5V at 1A.

Actually, as the battery charge get's nearer 100% full, it takes longer to charge.

Cheap AC usb or any kind of cheap power adapters have alarmingly high fail rates and have been known to explode or catch on fire.
Still, best bet is to get an AC usb plug for fast charging
Wow, my iPhone usually gets to 80%-100% in an hour from dead. But I use a wall charger, so that's probably what you need.
Cosmic duck is right. It charges at the same voltage and amperage from USB and from AC, so it doesn't make any electrical difference - probably combination of a placebo and a low-grade battery charge indicator
Why dont you just plug it in at night and do full cycle charges?
Ultimatly quick charges can shorten your batteries life.

Quite the contrary - with Li-ion batteries like the iPhone has, topping it off often will slow down natural deterioration.

USB ports supply up to 500mA per port or 1.5A when setup for no communication at all, obviously not the case for the iPod/iPhone.
There's no other way, it's the way it's designed. It's the max it can be charged at.
You'll just have to charge is over night or something.

If i'm not mistaken Li-ion batteries life spans last longer if you charge it when they need to be charged right?
Apparently, it's recommended to let it empty out once a month, but otherwise, it doesn't matter how you charge it.
