Its February release suggests the game has come a long way from the concept videos shown at GDC a few months ago.
Or maybe EA is just pushing the game out the door... I really hope Maxis can pull this off. I can't stand Cities XL anymore, and SC4 has started crashing on me more frequently.
i really hope a building's art style reflects the time period for once I.E i hate how in 2145 my city in sim city 4 looks as if its from 2004
cant wait to see what they show at E3
cant wait to see what they show at E3
They better show off transportation. So far its just been roads roads and more roads.
All this makes me want to start another SC4 collab. Good times.
Expand into my anus. I could not be more excited I think.
I wish it didn't have always-online DRM.
I wish it didn't have always-online DRM.
They said it wouldn't I'm pretty sure. But it checks for internet when starting the game I believe.

anyone not impressed by that video? I know it's not the final art and graphics, and you want to show the fans something but a system of fire spreading is pretty basic. Cool how materials and such affect it though.

It would be basic for a fire simulation game, but this is a small part of the whole Agent system. SC4 only had just. "It's near. it burns and burns forever"
If it's Origin only it will be a no-buy for me.
If it's Origin only it will be a no-buy for me.
This is the only exception I'm making for Origin. Even then its getting dumped into steam afterward.
What to expect from this game: (1) Always online DRM (2) On disc DLC (3) Bug plague release (4) Only on Origins (5) No Mod support (6) No dedicated servers (7) Single player campaign will not have a good ending Expect a poor quality since it is from EA
Good ending in a sp campaign for a sim city game? huh, didn't know they even needed a SP "campaign"? Dedicated servers isn't really necessary either, mod support the devs said glassbox was built for and they realize it's what kept sc4 alive. As for the DRM, it wouldn't close your game and only check on startup. I'm not sure you could be any more misinformed?
So do people actually have any good reasons for hating Origin so much that they're willing to skip a game because of it?
So do people actually have any good reasons for hating Origin so much that they're willing to skip a game because of it?
Because it gives EA more money.
Would be nice like The Sims 3, you can import Sims and house in.

Seriously, of course I'm hype for Sim city 5. Sim City HAS and will always be SINGLE PLAYER. Simcity never had a true mod support because it doesn't need any aside from Urban renewal renovation kit for Simcity 2000 and build you own buildings in Simcity 3k and SC4. Of course what I say about the Origins only is true since it's EA and they will likely want people to use it on origins.
Watch them fuck it all up with Origin only and shitty always-on DEN.
Watch them fuck it all up with Origin only and shitty always-on DEN.
Apparently it will be on Steam too
Because it gives EA more money.
Also because you're cutting out the middleman (a retailer like Steam, Amazon or a physical store) yet still paying the full price, or above full price. Taking BF3 as an example, it's actually cheaper to get the physical disks than to buy the digital version on Origin.
