Hello, i'm thinking of getting a new monitor, but i'd like to get some information. First of all, I've seen my friend's Phillips Econova 42 inch TV, and the colors are very crisp and clear, and it has a 500,000:1 dynamic contrast, 4 billion colors. However, i've read that static contrast should be better, the only problem is that all monitors that have over 100,000 in static contrast are TN monitors, and all monitors i've previously had was a TN monitor, and i'm getting sick of having to sit perfectly so the colors doesn't get all wierd. Example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DP7C00BIzH8 I don't care about response time and hz, because i've seen so many monitors and i fail to see any difference anymore. The monitor should also have both DVI and VGA. Could anyone help me out here and recommend me a good monitor? Preferably within 450 euro. Also, here's some monitors i've been looking at. I'd also prefer it to be 27 inch. I'll be going to sleep now, i'll check this thread tomorrow.
I would go for that dell as choice number 1, followed closely with the samsung. I was going to post 27in dell ips but you already had it.
-Dynamic contrast is usually an unreliable statistic -no monitor has even close to 100,000 static contrast -vga is not digital so don't do it! If you want 3D, it must be TN. IPS usually has better performer with colours and viewing angles IPS is usually less responsive than TN but you have to be korean to see the difference. I wouldn't go for the samsungs you mentioned, unless you decide on a pls panel. The dell is a good option but not cheap LG has just released a new IPS panel series, bringing down cost of production while still improving. its not 27 inch but you can take a look. Remember that LG own IPS technology and therefore all IPS monitors are in some way or another manufactured by LG. that includes the dell ones. They have the deepest blacks of any display out there. Viewing angles are between TN and IPS, but good enough for normal desk usage benq 27 inch http://benq.eu/products/LCD/index.cfm/product/1328
I always go to electronic stores to see what looks best. Then I memorize the brand and type, and go find the cheapest one online.

I've compared the size of this monitor compared to mine, and i think i can go for the 23 inch. Not only did you find me a good monitor, it's even cheap! I'll try and check this monitor out. Wow! I just found an PLS monitor with 5 million in dynamic contrast and! 2560 x 1440 resolution! However, It's at 1120 Euro, I might afford it in the future. However, i'll try to check out both monitors and see which i like the most. The monitor in question : EDIT, i appeared to show you the wrong link, and the monitor is gone from the site. I think i'll go for the LG monitor after all!
