MAKE MORE CORES
I want whatever drugs the people at Intel are on. 18 Cores? How about make 6 and 8 core SKUs more affordable and more powerful to actually compete with Ryzen.
8 cores and the rest are faked
I want whatever drugs the people at Intel are on. 18 Cores? If you have to question why it exists or what it's used for, then you're not part of its intended audience. In addition, these chips are usually using the same die as the Xeons of the same generation, but with much higher clock rates, unlocked multipliers, and a whole bunch of server features disabled. They cost very little for Intel to produce because of so, and are also highly profitable for Intel to sell towards a niche audience that demands such performance.
It's not until the $999 10 core, 20 thread i9-7900X, that the full range of features is lit up
typical Intel
intel plz cores aren't your meme
This is pretty dumb, just bought a AMD 1700x which has 8 cores, 16 thread for 426$
thanks to AMD, we get way more for way less ... even from Intel
It feels like Intel run out of ideas so now they stealing old AMD memes.
Lol for so much less you get the same performance with AMD
Why the hell would a 16 core, $1700 processor not be considered extreme?
Are you going to buy AMD so they remain competitive though?
i'm thinking about buying the Thread Ripper (unless AMD comes with well priced Ryzen R9 to counter Intel i9 naming scheme (like with R5,R7)) but atm. i'm waiting for Vega lineup to see what AMD has to offer as whole round-in platform
intel plz cores aren't your meme
But their top end CPUs have had stupid amounts of cores for many years. I, for one, would love one of these.

Just so happens to line up really well against Intel's names.
This is pretty dumb, just bought a AMD 1700x which has 8 cores, 16 thread for 426$
Their 8 Core part is priced at $600, so considering it's a true 8-core part that's actually pretty competitive with AMD. Depending on how Mobo costs are, and how they OC, I'm really considering selling my X99 and 6850k parts for this. Waiting on Threadripper pricing and OC ability to be announced though.

Probably not terribly well as the IHS isn't going to be soldered for the first time on this platform
The answers to those questions are as follows 1. Expensive 2. Probably not terribly well as the IHS isn't going to be soldered for the first time on this platform
As long as good mobos aren't $350+, I'll manage. And as long as they can hit 4.5 all cores with AiO, then I'm happy. It'll be a tossup, if threadripper can get 16 cores to 3.9 at below $1200, then it's a serious consideration since I both game and do rendering on my system.
I want whatever drugs the people at Intel are on. 18 Cores? seems like it's not soldered so only grey paste mess
