:gizz:
I am seriously looking forward to this god damn game
Suddenly my interest in this game went up a bit.
This just relieved a lot of worries I had for this reboot.
Asked by PC Gamer whether the PC edition would use the controller-based interface seen so far, lead designer Jake Solomon's answer was clear: "No, no, no. Nooo. Oh man, no. I wouldn't do that to you, are you kidding me? No."
Haha, I couldn't help laughing at his response. I've got complete trust in Firaxis. Seems like this is going in the right direction.
I think people were way too eager to shit all over this game when it was first announced. Now that we have a lot more info on it I hope those people choke on their hate.

People were hating on this game just like the other one.
No, no I'm not. People were hating on this game just like the other one.
Alright, fair enough, but there was nowhere near the magnitude of hate levelled at this title compared to the other one [editline]16th March 2012[/editline] and we were perfectly justified in being worried, we heard that they'd ditched TUs and the aliens looked all dodgy (those MiB-like aliens were the only ones they released) [editline]16th March 2012[/editline] besides people got back on board for this game at least a month ago, once more media came out and those fears were quashed.
I still don't like how they're handling bases though. It sounds to me like base defense missions are no more, though if anyone has information towards the contrary I'd be ecstatic.
So they actually DO give a crap about this game? Color me lavender.
It's funny how after this game got announced, nobody has heard anything about the XCOM FPS. They must've finally realized what colossal train wreck they were making.
Good to know we'll be able to expand the game through uscript. Also I hope they include the editor as well for new maps/base pieces.

But someone in corporate said that they needed to attach a brand to it and so they attached the name of a beloved turn based tactics game to a first person shooter, and x-com fans aren't call of duty fans. They know what they want, and they know what it's not.
I'm still somewhat skeptical about this but I'll give it a chance.
Neat?
I'm still somewhat skeptical about this but I'll give it a chance.
I'm still leaning more to Xenonauts for the better XCOM game but this should be fun.
Haha, I couldn't help laughing at his response. I've got complete trust in Firaxis. Seems like this is going in the right direction.
If only more developers had that attitude
Haha, I couldn't help laughing at his response. I've got complete trust in Firaxis. I mean a lot of people were expecting Duke Nukem: Forever to be awesome but it didn't turn out to be what the fans expected it to be, so why should we openly slam XCOM when it could turn out to be something worth playing?
I want this fucking game. shutupandtakemymoney.jpg
Happy to see that a few devs give a crap about PC development.
Yeah, I am rather excited about Xenonauts, it simply offers the originial formula with some enhancements and the visual style is simply terrific. Although I am somewhat unpatient because it has been in developpement since years.
I'm still leaning more to Xenonauts for the better XCOM game but this should be fun.
Of course, I even donated to Xenonauts.
GunFox will still have a stick up his ass about this. He's had it since it was announced and it doesn't seem like its going away.
Firaxis had a guaranteed sale in my case from the first preview I read in PCGUK.
