• Ubuntu 10.04 - "Wireless is disabled"

Hey, I've been using Ubuntu 10.04 on my laptop for a few weeks now. Everything's been running fine but all of a sudden when someone else was using it they started complaining the internet wasn't working. Had a look and found the wireless wasn't connected, went to re-connect it but the menu just gives me "wireless is disabled". I did find a guide somewhere relating to this problem which told me to run a terminal command (cannot remember which) that showed the wireless card with the driver all loaded. However, this also told me it was disabled. Does anyone know how I can solve this? Thanks.
Did you check that the wireless switch on your laptop was set to on? Just sayin'. :v:
There's a button which I've tried pressing a few times but it doesn't do anything unless you're running Windows. The light on it is blue indicating that the wireless should be on, but that's probably meaningless because before it would constantly change (without affecting anything).
Right click the internet thing at the top right. Is "enable wireless" checked?
The problem has appeared to have solved itself (after I booted up with an ethernet cable plugged in, I doubt that had anything to do with it). Thanks for the help anyway.
