Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light should’ve been given away as ‘free’ updates.
lol what are they insane, do they not know how much effort theyve put into this? far too much to just give it away for free.
I agree with the 50% off thing from the start. Even more now with the new trailer showing everything they've changed.
I'll probably buy it with the discount just for the sake of owning it, although I doubt I'll actually play it right away, I've had enough metro for now.
Lots of gamers act entitled, more at eleven.
That's like saying every new CoD title should be free because it's the same game with different weapons.
I would pay 50$ for this, already owning both, 30$.
That would be fair price.
anniversary remastered versions of games should totally be free guys
I've never played the Metro games before, I might as well get this version. Hell, it's cheap, too.
Started playing 2033 the other day and then heard about this. I'm holding off on it until then, looks like a much more improved version even just gameplay wise and I'm looking for something that'll really push my new graphics card.
i wish i had a pc that could run these. especially at 4k would be sweet

The Devs claim that the system requirements are effectively cut in half, as well as looking 3 times better than the original versions.
I preordered both of these games at full price, and now this is 2 for the price of half of one? I'm sold.
The fact that this needs defending is kind of sad.
This could be effectively the best way to play metro.
just do not do what i did, i played through all of metro 2033 at 10 fps.
I'm really surprised that last light and 2033 is only 10gb each. that's pretty low for that well upgraded visuals.
wait what they even have to defend themselves?
This isn't some lame ass HD texture pack they practically redid the entire game
I don't understand people. Big companies shit out a million pieces of DLC for each of their games and no one says a word, a small company redoes two of their games and people expect them to be released for free.
I just bought the metro series 6 months ago, kinda makes me wish I waited a bit but I still plan to buy the redux. $50 seems very resonable although I'll probably wait a while till a sale since I just bought the others.

If I'm not mistaken they mostly use shaders instead of only textures to add detail.
Works really well and scales perfectly to higher resolutions too.
B-b-but I own Halo 2, why dont 343 give me anniversary 4 free, its just a remaster!!
I've always loved how 4A games communicate about their games. They just feel so much more actually interested than other companies and they give out good answers most of the time.
Also 20€ for both of them with all the DLC and more stuff is a fucking steal, what the fuck.
I think some of the opposition comes from the fact that these are relatively new games where as a game like Halo is more than ten years old. Some people see it as paying for a patch since some games this old still get free updates.
They put a great deal of effort into this it looks like, making changes based on complaints users had about the original games, I don't see why it should be expected that all of this work should be done for free, the games look fantastic compared to the originals, and getting the entire bundle in one package for 50% off really is a good deal.
With the better framerate, this is practically screaming for Oculus Rift support. I hope it gets it, third party or not.
why does this need defending lol? more than reasonable for them to charge for what is essentially a remake of the first game and a revamp of the second.
I have 2033 but pre-ordered the whole bundle. They're both already pretty cheap to begin with and already having 2033 makes the price drop even lower so I only end up paying about 35 bucks for it. I've never played Last Light so I figured it'd be a good investment.
Metro 2033 was given away for free at one point - how can you complain you're given a discount to buy an upgrade to something you might even have gotten for free?
I have such a high amount of respect for this development team, it'd be a crime to not accept their 50% discount.
I was one who thought it should have been free updates, but that was before I realized just how much went into remaking these games. If it were just a new watch, some animations, and some weapon fixes, then yea patch. But they remade some sequences, remade characters, added new rooms and some locations, and fleshed out some of the outside words. Redux looks awesome.
