Ok, When I bought this Toshiba Satellite A505-S6980 laptop, it had Windows 7 Home Premium Pre installed. It was a genuine version with a product id and everything. For some reason, starting about 1-2 weeks ago, on the bottom right hand corner of the screen ( above the task bar/ on the wallpaper) it'll say " Windows 7 Build XXXX ( i forget what build it was) and then it'll say This Copy of Windows is NOT Genuine..... This appeared recently, and I had bought this laptop back in Nov ( Black Friday) '10. I don't know what the cause is, but is there a way to fix it? It doesn't affect my experience on my laptop at all, but the message itself just bothers me. Note: It will appear at random, like sometimes, it'll appear right before I shut down my laptop ( meaning, once I press the shut down button, it'll appear) or it'll appear AFTER its shutting down ( meaning, once the windows start up screen pops up again, it'll appear) Since I don't think this requires any specs, I didn't post any. If you need my computer specs, let me know and I'll provide them ASAP. Thanks for your help :]
bump. anyone?
update: I just tried to update a driver via device manager, and this message saying that I should validate my Windows OS... apparently I had to download this validation update from the microsoft site and.. that was it o.O idk if this problem is gone tho :O
Try calling your manufacturer and telling them your key was having authentication problems. We can't help with that.
I think the warranty expired tho xO
If you can enter a key anywhere in the activation wizard, try that.
If you can't, try calling the number the activation wizard would give you if you chose to activate by phone.
