Hey FP,
I'm looking to build a rig for gaming & some video rendering (e.g. After Effects). I also want it to be somewhat future proof.

Unless you're doing a lot of rendering, don't get the 1055T. The 955 should be enough for video rendering unless you're doing big projects.

I was thinking this too, but it's only £25 difference. I just don't wanna be kicking myself, especially when people start actually developing more software that uses 6 cores.
955 does perform better than the 1055 on quite a lot of occasions though

Yeah I read that on a review, but is that not just until software is developed which uses the extra cores? It's just I want to have a CPU that isn't going to be too out-dated in a few years.
Certainly get 1055T, it's a great chip which OCs like hell also.
955.
Future proof right there.

Get out.

The 955 has an unlocked multiplier. The 1055T doesn't.
