I'm looking into buying one of these. If you don't know what it is then see below.

I was wondering a few things:
-Is there an official name for these so that I can compare several brands?
-Are there any out there that would pack enough punch for some light gaming (without breaking the bank)?
Basically the EEE ET2203T seems to be the ticket for me at the minute, incorporating BluRay, a TV tuner, full HD external monitor (for xboxing on) with HDMI, a computer packing a bit of a punch and touchscreen.

Medion Touch X9613 looks like the perfect device, however it will no doubt cost a bomb.
Wouldn't your arm get tired? I always wondered that when I saw touchscreen PC's.

Considering most people who have computers also wack off to shitloads of porn, I doubt this will happen.
I've never used a touchscreen that didn't feel like a gimmicky add-on hat just hindered navigation to be honest.
I can't see how a touchscreen would be beneficial to a computer. It's just going to slow you down and limit the capabilities.
I don't see the use. Sure, its all "Woo, I've got a touchscreen"
But then you realize how useless the feature is and how much you spent on it
Most touchscreen AiO pc's have atom processors and intel graphics.
so....
Can it be used as a tablet?
[editline]07:31PM[/editline]
The touchscreen I mean, because that would make that computer even more awesome.
DON'T GET ONE!
Your gonna think it's really cool for like a month, then your gonna realise that using a mouse is 10x easier and faster. Plus you'll have to wipe fingerprints off your screen every 5 minutes.
ITT: people bitch about something that's entirely their opinion
yet again
Why?
If it's for drawing just get a bamboo or something...
HP makes a model like that. Vastly overpriced, but if the coffers are full...
what do you need it for?
I would go for a T91
They're a gimmick. Like macs.

The two I mentioned had a core 2 duo mobile and a core 2 Quad Q9000.
One had an ATi 4670 and one had a GTX 240M.
There goes that myth.

There's a keyboard and mouse provided with any decent one.
Get the one with a Q9000 and a GTX240M
I would go for a T91
That's a laptop, and pretty underpowered comparing the prices.
+ I already have a laptop.

I'm more getting it for the All-in-one ness.
What I need:
-PC in a monitor
-HDMI input
-Ability to display full HD
-Built in TV tuner
-Built in speakers
-A little bit of a punch in the specs deparment
Basically, from what I can see, the only devices that seem to be available fitting those requirements have touchscreens.
[editline]11:28AM[/editline]
And blu ray would be a nice addition, but a DVD RW is essential.
[editline]11:28AM[/editline]
And the entire thing needs to use one power plug. Hence all in one, so don't batter me with a bullshit list of parts that's better but half the price.
[editline]11:29AM[/editline]
And it can't be a mac because they cost £Ridiculous.
Get the one with a Q9000 and a GTX240M
Not released and probably going to be WAY over my budget. But yeah that one seems awesome.
Oh. I'm not willing to spend much more than £850.
[editline]12:44PM[/editline]
Sony VPCL11S1E/S looks interesting.
Just hope it doesn't end up like me and the novint falcon. At first I thought it was awesome and the coolest thing ever, then I just started using my mouse again and it's collecting dust...
What part of multi purpose device don't you guys understand? This is going to be the most used electronic thing in my life (whether I use the touchscreen or not). It's a desktop replacement (cause I don't have room for one now).
Cool for little kids at school, until they go in to the real world =[
HP Touchsmart 2
You can get an EEEPC and it's unofficial touchscreen sensor
Except it's touchscreen is shit and it's super-duper expensive
I've got an EEE PC. I need something with power. In an all in one.

Read the god damn thread.
If you weren't so blind you could see how this could be a practical device (i.e. in student halls where you only have 4 plugs and a limit on the wattage available, and you want a TV, PC, Xbox etc).
That's a laptop, and pretty underpowered comparing the prices.

the all-in-ones usually use the same parts
the all-in-ones usually use the same parts
Read the thread.
I've been looking at models with Core 2 Quads, GTX 240Ms, 8GB RAM, Blu ray.
build a computer yourself and then buy a cheap crt there you go.

are you illiterate? did you not learn to read a thread?
I am buying one of these computers today, Brilliant for most uses. Use the mouse and keybored as normal, And the touch screen for the more interactive applications, It works brilliant for warfare games like Command and Conquer - I would recommend this pc
i read it and then countered with what i think is a more sensible way of getting what he wants
