• Using Mac as an itrip

I have an out dated stereo system that is still good, and I want to know if there is any way of using my mac kind of like an itrip, as in using a non active radio frequency to broadcast my music. Put simply, I want music directly from my mac to my stereo. I'm hoping that it's just going to be a download or something to convert my wireless router.
I'm not even sure if routers are capable of putting out the radio signal that radios recieve... I'm probably wrong, but I wouldn't get your hopes up for a magical program that'll turn your router and mac into an iTrip.
I wasn't thinking that there would be any magical solution but I don't want to buy a new stereo system if i don't have to. Thanks for your help anyway...
Isn't there a line in or anything on your stereo? Maybe even a microphone jack.
You could buy an adapter that allows you to run a line out to your cassette player.
Isn't there a line in or anything on your stereo? Maybe even a microphone jack.
I'm not positive about the whole system considering its my parent's... my computer is only about 15 feet from my system. I hope that there is a line in but the system is pretty old (like pushing 15) which gives me the feeling that they wouldn't have built a jack in for external devices. With that in mind, it got me wondering about the radio thing, hence the thread. And thanks for everyone's help so far. If it's old enough, you may have the RCA audio (The red and white jacks) on the back for auxiliary devices. OR you can just go to the store and buy an FM transmitter for $15

I do have the white and red jacks in the back, but what kind of cord should I buy that would connect my Mac to it?
3.5mm to RCA http://www.cablesdirect.com/search_result3.asp?txtKeyword=Audio_RCA&txtName=3.5mm%20Stere/RCA%20Cables
