One of the South Korean guys in the dorm I am currently staying in asked me if I could find a laptop for him that can play games/do school work/etc.(but mostly heavy gaming) He says he has $700-800 to spend on it. What would be a good pick? (He asked me to look because he cant speak/read english very well)
I too, would like to know this.
Heavy gaming? He better be able to play with lower resolutions and graphics quality. Otherwise he'd be wise to get a bigger budget. Also, does he need good battery life?
Battery life isnt on his priority list, so no

I know it's recertified but it's the most powerful thing I can find. Gaming laptop for $700-800? Good luck, I doubt you'll find one.
From what I found, this is your best bet for such a low priced gaming laptop. The HD 5650 is actually a good graphics chip and in benchmarks, beats that GTX 325M. Plus you get a Quad core instead of a dual core. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115792
